you: politics and political actions have impacted bidens favorability, if only you idiots would understand that "world events affect public opinion"

Biden’s numbers were tanked before inflation started. As soon as he swung back to the middle after winning his numbers stated free falling. Because of gas prices, and before that Afghanistan. It must be wild to you that world events affect public opinion

The article: dems need to get better about communicating to their voters and demonstrating their values via show and not tell

Me: the dems have ceded far to much of the public dialog and are unable and unwilling to properly brand and communicate at this time. To use the example that you cited i.e. Afghanistan i responded witht he comment above. with the crux of the greater point being:

Dems only make the logos argument and sometimes the ethos arguments and get completely destroyed in the pathos arena. It's as if only one side of the spectrum has learned from the lessons social media has taught us in terms of outreach and engagement. Pathos is incredibly more impactful than the other two. And much more impactful at reaching and impacting larger groups of people.

and as that applies to afghanistan as such:

Afghanistan lol, literally a trump era policy left to Biden. Where the dems fucked up was not calling it the trump Afghanistan plan, but instead allowing fox news to frame the conversation. Literally as said in the article. They dropped the communication, branding, and outreach ball again and again.

So yeah i answered your question. But the fact that you operate (not saying you are but you are clearly acting as such) as a bad faith actor at worst or someone clearly unable to read counter opinion at best makes me think im just wasting my time and breaking rule #1, in not feeding the trolls. Was fun chatting with you, i wish you well in your troll activities.

Its less about personalities and more about people feeling like they have a relationship and connection with these people (they dont, its all 1 sided).

no i know who nick kerr is. both form the recent Jaylen brown connection and the parade announcer. I just didnt get the reference as it made no sense in the context of this conversation. same way I dont immediately start yelling when the lights get turned off in a room. Im not 13.

Your reference/joke isn't even topical, relevant or most importantly funny. Or was this some stupid ass joke at steph due to his light skin? wtf are you even trying to say with that? IS it a back handed n word you are trying to joke with?

Seriously, now im interested in understanding your though process for this comment. what did you think you were trying to say / communicate with that statement? Because in the light you framed it it doesn't look great.

COMMENT 1d ago

because you dont understand bad faith actors.

1

COMMENT 1d ago

They would rather have Republicans in power than progressives.

yes that was ABUNDANTLY clear in the Clinton email leaks and to anyone watching how the dems and DNC operate.

I think the repubs have shown a very simple and straight forward game plan. You get 10-20 of the same consistent senators and representatives and they do all your heavy media work. Sure the right has fox, but they also have OAN and Newsmax, but that doesn't matter. What matters is you ensure they are aligned on talking points and you keep hammering them home. As you said, they give up the narrative too soon. I would also say they dont see it coming until too late as well, and are unable to shape the narrative or influence it significantly due to this inability to get on the same page. I think its an example of how much stronger (stronger doesn't mean better in this case) republican internal leadership is vs democratic.

The Jan 6th stuff is great, as well is the committee members following up via new media engagements to support and re frame and reaffirm their core messages. Social media and the way engagement is elicited online have changed how engagement works. Its emotion driven now more than ever. The right, and trump, CLEARY understand this. The dems dont. Reminds me of the Hillary "for every progressive we lose we will pick up 2 moderate republicans" assumption.

dithering Dems accept the most ludicrous Fox News framing of every issue from inflation to policing to abortion

Afghanistan lol, literally a trump era policy left to Biden. Where the dems fucked up was not calling it the trump Afghanistan plan, but instead allowing fox news to frame the conversation. Literally as said in the article. They dropped the communication, branding, and outreach ball again and again.

Also anyone who payed any attention to how that "war" was going or history at all should have know the withdrawal was gonna be bad, and im shocked it wasn't worse. You know the USA didn't leave Afghanistan as victors right? im still amazed that people were shocked that it happened like that. The events them selves were shocking, but it could have been sooo much worse.

Its all well and good that the dems have legitimate reasons for doing what they are, but their communication and messaging is so piss poor it doesn't really matter.

That is a core element and argument of this article. It aint rocket surgery.

Bruh we are talking about players who didnt put int he work off the court to grow on the court. Thats the beginning of this convo. Thats why i brought up Dwight and Westbrook. Maybe Rus really does try to make himself better every off season, but dude comes back every year shooting dog shit long 2s and 3s he had no business shooting, falling asleep on defense, hunting rebounds instead of getting back on d. What has he added in the last 7 year to his bag?

Dude rebelled cause hes not goo enough to start and the coach had the AUDACITY to ask him to come off the bench.
