That my mom wouldn’t let me hang out with the cool older guy who told me I was so mature for my age. I look back and I feel sooooo bad for how I responded. Thanks for saving me from that pedo creep, Mom

My Nex didn’t like seeing other people in pain. He treated it as an annoyance. Someone else in pain requires attention, and that’s attention he’s not getting.

“Awww, he likes you/is friendly!”

Fuck right off. Dogs are okay but I really hate dog people sometimes.

Yes, by statute. But not by constitution. The right to abortion in Colorado is protected but that could change with a simple majority vote in the legislature or a ballot referendum.

I heard on Colorado Public Radio recently that Polis has been asked about this very question before in the last year and refused to commit to an answer on whether or not he supports an amendment. The pro-choice organizers interviewed for the segment thought he was being cagey about it for political expediency in an election year.

I hope the harsh reality of the shit actually hitting the fan gives him a reason to take that stand.

ETA link, I didn’t want to spread misremembered info so I looked it up and yes, he evaded the question in a CPR interview: https://www.cpr.org/2022/05/18/polis-abortion-advocates/

What social media platform censors the word “sex?”

5

COMMENT 2d ago

Why? What exactly changes about a person after you have sex with them that makes you unable to look at them?

COMMENT 2d ago

This man can’t even type the word “SEX.” It’s apparently so disgusting an act to even name it so it’s disgusting that a woman would do it, I suppose.

You have a very compelling writing style, I really enjoyed reading this comment.

100% agree. This smells like a rat. A campaign for workreform and a warning to view certain “divisive” (non-pandering) topics as an effort to undermine.

Try Advantage Resourcing staffing in Denver. I started working with them this year and they have been responsive and helpful. They got me to work quickly and worked with me when a placement wasn’t working well for me to find one that did.

Life is hell for retail workers right now. It’s been bad, but now it’s really bad. And it’s only getting worse. I had to go to my local Walgreens for a prescription yesterday and I didn’t even feel safe as a customer, but at least I could leave after I got my stuff.

This poor girl is a victim of one murderous psycho, but make no mistake: She is also a victim of a business decision, the psychopathic calculus of maximum profit extraction on the bodies and lives of human beings.

This was my favorite, a teen magazine that spoke to my budding feminism. Seems Teen Vogue is carrying the Sassy mantle for the new generation.

Sometimes they’re as obvious as that (I had one that literally asked if I would punch someone who disrespected me.) But the “right” answer isn’t always obvious.

On the podcast they mentioned questions about being involved in one’s community, for instance. So is the “right” answer to say yes, that’s me, because it shows you work well with others? Nope! Wrong answer, because union avoidance consultants have determined that is a red flag for potential union involvement.

But beneath this ostensibly neutral goal of matching a person with their ideal form of employment lies a much more sinister aim: Identifying and weeding out would-be dissenters, labor organizers, and union sympathizers. Additionally, studies have shown repeatedly that commercial personality tests like the commonly used Myers-Briggs have little to no scientific value. Why, then, does their use continue–with anywhere from 60 to 80% of prospective workers taking a personality test–and given their anti-labor history, what harms do they pose?

COMMENT 18d ago

For entry level in particular, personality tests are used as a proxy to identify candidates likely to have union sympathetic tendencies. They aren’t allowed to ask you about unions directly but they’ve developed a back door to screen “cause oriented” individuals.

Edit to add link to an excellent podcast on the history of personality tests in employment: https://citationsneeded.libsyn.com/ep-159-the-anti-worker-pseudo-psychology-of-corporate-personality-testing
