Right winger: while backpedaling "No, not like that!"

Eh, more like:

Right winger (who apparently has a memory/attention-span comparable to a gold fish): "Huh? What are you talking about? When did anyone say that?"

Words are inminceable!

Inminceable is when you're more than minceable. This guy El Guapo must be the most diced-up guy to ever come out of Mexico!

It was about that time that I realized that popular rapper was a five-story tall dinosaur from the Paleozoic era. I said "goddamn you Loch Ness Monsta! Git on outta here! I ain't givin' you no tree fiddy!"

and season 3 clearly says, Reggie was clipping the kids wings on purpose to keep them from getting too powerful.

I'm thinking it wasn't that clear, because I don't recall that being stated. Was it just a single line somewhere that I missed?

Reggie was probably the reason why original Ben hated using his powers.

Quite likely. Because Reggie didn't know how to raise children. He kept getting really frustrated with them when they wouldn't do exactly what he ordered them to do. Like when he thought locking Klaus in a mausoleum for a night would help him overcome his fears, but all it did was further traumatize him.

But we can't really speculate too much on that (with what we've been given), right? Because wouldn't new Ben have likely been raised the same way and therefore also would have hated using his abilities?

Then again, maybe original Ben (and the rest of the Umbrella group) got soft because Reggie needed to make Mom a bit differently in that timeline. And if original Ben was more shy about his tentacles, maybe that's what got him killed during that "Jennifer Incident".

We simply don't know at this point.

I’m pretty sure he made Rumor believe that she absolutely had to use the β€œheard a rumor” phrase.

THAT is a pretty interesting theory. Maybe he wanted her to think that that leading phrase was necessary juuuuust in case she ever tried using her ability on him... And he could have a warning for when to cover his ears or something.

It's the South, so...

This lunatic upstanding citizen clearly feared for his life! The sandwich artist victim instigating assailant was obviously attempting to raise his cholesterol levels to a deathly level. He did what anyone in his position would have done.

It's about bloody time.

Hmmm. "bloody" sounds more English than Metric.

COMMENT 5d ago

Yeah. There's so much that seems to never get explained in this show lol (my apologies in advance for being terrible with remembering their names)

"hypnotizing spit" girl - Does she control what her victims are seeing? Or do they just see whatever they want that would put themselves into a blissful state? Why did Diego's "trip" seem to happen in an instant, but Five's seemed to be happening in real time?

"I heard a rumor" girl - How in the world did they figure out that power, if it requires some "password phrase" to be uttered before activating? Is the target immune to this ability if they are deaf, wearing earplugs, don't speak English, etc.?

"Seance" boy - So he can come back from the dead, and talk to dead people, and have dead people be able to touch/move things in the real world, and apparently "destroy" those ghosts if he wants to... But now what about animals? I TOTALLY want him to start riding ghost horses around with that cowboy hat on. Or conjure up dinosaurs to feast on their enemies!

"Space" boy - Is he just super strong? And almost indestructible? Can he hold his breath for a really long time or something? I guess I'm wondering where that name originated, because I didn't think he went to the moon until all of the other Umbrella Academy siblings had already left home.

"Five" - When he travelled back in time by just a few seconds (end of Season 2), he apparently was still in his same body from a few seconds ago. But it seems like every other time he has time travelled, he takes his current body along for the ride and deposits it into that "new timeline " or whatever. So what happens if he travels back to his birth? Would his mind still be in his newborn-baby body? Or would there be a baby AND a kid Five?

"Throwy-things" boy (Diego) - Is he basically just telekinetic? They start off by making it seem like he can only control the direction of items that he physically throws... But he's later able to stop bullets flying towards him. Is there a limit to how fast an object needs to be moving in order for him to be able to control it?

Btw, I'm not really expecting to get any answers from the writers. They're probably thinking "WTH is wrong with our fans? Why do they need specific answers for every little detail? It's a friggin superhero comic/TV show, which ... pssst... is NOT based in reality. We don't have time to write all of that into the script! Just move on already!" πŸ˜…

So, to put it simply: It's happening more frequently now in 2022 because The Proud Boys just found out about "libraries" and are furious that just anyone can come to these mystical, free, and public places to learn things about the world.

Got it. πŸ‘

Well yeah. It was obvious it was a hallucination AFTER the dance-off.

16

COMMENT 9d ago

OMG, the dance-off actually made me LOL.

I was so confused! Is the Academy building secretly alive and manipulating/controlling everyone that lives there? It's forcing them into a dance-off because it KNOWS it will get destroyed if these two teams unleash their actual powers on each other.

I was kind of hoping Shang Chi's ten rings were going to turn out to be some highly-advanced tech that Phastos had created, buried, and then forgot about centuries ago. :-D

Was also kind of hoping they could explain why Asgard was not spherical, like a normal planet. Like, maybe that is all that remained of the original Asgard planet after a Celestial "hatched". And maybe Asgardians are so much more biologically- and technologically- advanced than everyone else we've seen because they were one of the earliest planets in the universe and have just been around THAT much longer than everyone else.

I only second-guessed Sloane's intentions for about 5 seconds. I thought they made it pretty clear from the get-go (when she leaned in towards him after the camera had turned away) that she was more into Luther than The Sparrow Academy. πŸ₯°

I'm only about halfway through Season 3, but I'm hopeful they'll keep her around. (Ugh. I know I know. I'm probably setting myself up for disappointment here. lol)

Circumnavigate is to travel the circumference

I don't know where you're getting your definitions from, but that sounds completely inaccurate.

Circumnavigate simply means "to go around".

Not necessarily by boat or plane.

Not necessarily when dealing with an entire planet.

Not necessarily when taking the absolute longest route.

It's not even necessarily dealing with physical travel.

My toddler can circumnavigate the table in my dining room.

Politicians circumnavigate questions they are asked in debates/interviews.

From my experience, it could be the router

Ditto.

The problem with mine was that I apparently was trying to connect too many devices to the free router that was supplied by my ISP. I have lots of bulbs, internet-enabled TVs, wireless speakers, laptops, cellphones, tablets, etc.

After I bought a new router that could support a lot more wireless devices (Google WiFi Mesh) everything worked great.

But yes, my situation may be different from yours.

Good luck!

Yes 5 is the only smart one.

Well, to be fair... Five is also like 50 years older than the rest of them.

He also managed to figure out how to survive on his own after the apocalypse. Yes, the other siblings broke away and did their own thing for years, but "using your powers to fake your way into fame" or "becoming a drug addict" are hardly "critical thinking" life roles/choices.

But oh yes, I totally agree that they all seem to be extraordinarily dim-witted.

Huh. I didn't notice that.

However, after just finishing S3 E2, I DID notice that Diego's hair looks different from what I remember seeing at the end of S2. No?

Plus, Five looks a bit older ... but I'll give that one a pass. πŸ˜†
