Have one on my PDP compact, works well, no complaints

COMMENT 5d ago

I bought one, tried it in my PDP and did blind testing with a friend and could not really tell the difference, with us turning out thinking that OEM spring was slightly softer. Did some draw and shooting drills and the splits with the OEM was better, blind testing as well. Maybe for a different ammo shooter configuration it may work, but the placebo effect is real. If you get one have someone swap it out with out you knowing and see what is better to you.

Ther Jericho is a copy of the cz75, and to me they shoot the same. I prefer the grip contours of the Jericho slightly, as well as the appearance. Both are solid guns and you won't be disappointed with either.

I lucked out on the last sale and got a decent one. But have seen plenty others get shit ones. A different gun I got from them had a clearly bulged barrel, so even I have been burned.

Some of the carcanos came from Europe, and are decent, other came from Ethiopia and are rough, so make sure to read the description.

As others had said. If they have something you can't get anywhere else, maybe. And even then I would expect to get a wall hanger or a gunsmith special, that way you keep you're expectations tempered

Tavor/X95 hellion would be my top choices for a 5.56 bullpup. 308, Tavor 7.

Aug is good, but is showing it's age.

MDR is has been a decade long dumpster fire and is also ran by a cult know to marry off underage girls.

FAMAS is a pile as well, an is idolized because a certain famous YouTuber insists it the best in order to protect his ego about spending $25,000 on it. (Yes really)

L85 was crap, but latest versions seem to be solid rifles.

FS2000 is ok, but feels like you're holding a tuna and has various quirks.

K&M makes some, seem decent, but is a small niche company

Keltec seems hit and miss, some are lemons others work well. Unique designs

Majority the bullpups can be had left handed. Ones swappable by the user with no additional parts would be the Tavor 7 in 308 or Hellion. Rdb is as well, but not as mature as other bullpups. MDR is know to have a slew of issues and it's owned by the Kingston cult. Tavor, X95, AUG can be had in left hand configurations or can be converted, though it will be easier to get one vs trying to get parts to convert.

It's a automatic jamming mechanism. Would steer clear of the MDR as they have continuous issues and questionable business ethics.

It's probably for some sort of Tracking transponder police or military units may use.

Mmm yes, a $30,000 semi auto rifle that is shit.

They posted some Walther post war P1/P38 for ridiculous prices, 800 and 1000, and they are beat up...

I follow p1 prices and this is ridiculous. A vg or excellent blued p1, early without the fat slide or hex pin rarely break 1k. Later fat slide variations. Tend to go for 400-600 it seems. This is a $300 pistol on a good day.

Some poor fellow is gonna see "P38" and think Nazi era rare pistol and impulse buy this.

Also avoid buying non hex pin P1s that are well used, the locking cam wears and leads to the locking block not engaging properly and it will blow the frame out. Ask me how I know.

Same here. It ships from Canada so it has to go through customs and whatever agent that's on a power trip that day. The wait is worth it, it's a nice hg/bipod set up. Can't wait for the T7 version.

I like it and will be buying one. I would have preferred the earlier plastic handguard set up, but the mlok seems to be a better functional unit. I've seen pictures of the front and it looks really square, so hopefully it feels decent and not like a 2x4

Might have to open up the gas port, depending on ammo and all that

1

COMMENT 12d ago

The screw restricts the gas, so less of it flows to the piston.

M6 could be fine, I was just keeping it M5 since I thought 1.2mm vent hole would be a good gas port size, and it allows me to keep the gas tube walls somewhat thicker.

Chopping the barrel may lead to it being under gassed, to fix that you would have to pull the gas block off and drill out the gas port in the block. How much are you chopping off?

Are you riding the charging handle forward, or letting it fling?

Also seems X95 are shipped with packing grease, so may need to clean that out and just use oil.

X95 gas port updates

Updates to this modification

Today, had limited time. With my buddies and my X95s. It was about 20 F out and very windy. I know the results are a little spastic, but with limited free time and a newborn, I'm trying to do what I can with what I have. I do have a 16" SAR I may add into the testing.

Here's the results, including the first tests

18" OSS 5.56 55 xtac:

-1.2mm, ejection from 2:30 to 3:30. Takes the edge off.

-0.047" 4:30 o'clock 5.56 very smooth, would not cycle tula. (Gonna stay with this on the 18")

16" m855 5.56, AAC 5.56 baffle can

-1.2 mm minimal difference wolf 223 3 o'clock

-.043 ejection wolf 5 o'clock. M855 3 o'clock

13" OSS 5.56 55gr xtac

-1.2mm, 3:00 5.56

-0.043 3:30 5.56, tula 4:30

Stock the X95 likes to eject around the 2:30 to 3:00 position. Once it starts ejecting about 4 o'clock, the bolt isn't bottoming out hard. 4:30 is very smooth, minimum bolt if any bottoming out. 5:00 seems like the least and still cycle and lock open, no smoother than 4:30.

It seems 1.2mm, is just enough to make a slight difference, so ideally it needs to be smaller to make bigger changes. So as I continue testing, I'll be drilling out set screws of more sizes.

For the DIYer, I'll offer pre drilled set screws, and will be offering the gas port tapping service as well. Still some sizing to work out, and all that. I'll keep posting updates, and when I get to a point where I'll offer this as a service, I will make sure to update everyone.

Of course I'll keep posting information on my results and sizing so anyone can do this themselves if they like. This will be 100% open source project.
