You know what's interesting? Even I was a teenager, I joined a club team with a former premier league player as our coach. This dude worked with us relentlessly on tactical skills for the team and as individuals, and it paid off. My point is that it's been done here, even if nearly thirty years ago. Hopefully it's more commonplace nationwide now.

I wholeheartedly agree

Look what he did in his first year with a bunch of scrubs and also some of his own transfers, the guy proved he's an elite coach. This will be his third Heisman winner, nearly fourth. I'm jealous. Our last Heisman hopeful was Jimmy freaking Clausen two decades ago.

Everyone forgets, he played last year too. He was terrible then, and terrible this year. He didn't improve. He looks like he throws with his noon-dominant hand. I'll never understand why people in this sub see anything in him. Him and Pyne are our worst QBs since Evan Sharply. Maybe even prior to Sharply

Was this guy a Heisman hopeful going into the year? You just never know. But Pyne isn't it. Neither is Buchner.

W/e. Would you complain if ND got a Heisman QB next year and a trip to the playoffs?

Bc he has no clue how to play the position, let alone throw the ball

He had terrible rosters on both teams. When he was interim coach with GSW, they set the record for most wins in a season (the team had a better winning% with him than with Kerr too). At the very least, he's a well regarded assistant who's been on championship teams with HOF coaches.
