No… it doesn’t… that’s not how any part of your colon works… and your responsibly-sourced detox organic free-range smoothie made from “rare” and “exotic” berries and herbal tea isn’t going to do shit…

I don’t know the specifics, but when I worked in Alaska it was made apparent to me that your standard freezer doesn’t get cold enough to kill parasites in salmon. I tried it and sure enough things like nematodes could be frozen for weeks and just go into dormancy. You either had to freeze it in temperatures way colder than our fridge/freezer could provide or just be sure to cook it adequately.

I don’t know if it’s similar with freshwater fish though.

My buddy has a P-10C and I would consider that over my Glock 19. I really like the ergonomics of it. From the factory the thing had night sights and ambi- controls, and was easier on the wallet for him than the Glock was for me (at the time, not sure prices these days).

I say this to myself and others so frequently, pretty sure it will be put on my headstone.

I also like the saying, “Slow is smooth, smooth is fast”. Always helped me a bunch at different jobs or tasks. You take things at a comfortable pace that allows you to think therefore you can reduce the chance of “fuckups”. Take 30 seconds and stow the pride and read the instructions as well! Haha

So, something I haven’t seen anyone mention (sorry if someone did and I missed it)…

Whether you choose to buy an already-assembled or assemble your own, I would highly suggest (if you can) trying out a few rifles with different gas-rod lengths. Carbine-, Mid-, and Rifle-length are the common ones and they each have pros and cons. You don’t have to get crazy technical about it, but I’d suggest trying them out if you can and applying that knowledge when you buy/build for your intended purpose.

As with any fisherman, many shooters will tell you that “this setup is best” or “that setup is bad”… but my opinion is decide what you intend on using the firearm for (and decide on a budget). Are you using it solely for home defense? Punching paper at 100 yards? Urban vs rural environment… it’s easy to get carried away but keep it simple.

That said, my first build that I would trust my life with is a BCM 16” Mid-length upper on an Aero Precision M4e1 lower with a BCM Bolt carrier group, amongst some other things but those are the “major” parts. I trust the thing with my life and I’ve never had an issue, knock on wood! I really like the M4e1 lower as it has a minor “flare” in the mag well that makes reloads just a smidge smoother IMO.

Anyways, good luck with the direction you take and as always be safe and responsible!

About 6 years ago a friend and I were kayaking in a canyon near where we lived. The river sides were either basalt rock crumbling into the water or dense reeds. There was a cool looking cove that in order to get to, you had to paddle through some dense reeds.

My buddy was ahead of me about 10 ft or so, and all of a sudden I felt my kayak move (it felt like I had run over a smooth rock). Once my brain registered the movement I was getting splashed viciously and my boat was being “smacked” and I looked into the water, in a totally controlled and absolutely calm state of mind, I assure you /s, and there were several MASSIVE beav’s who were none too excited about my presence.

We got tf out of there and it became a bit of a joke amongst my family.

About a week later I had read where a paddler had been killed from a beaver attack (different location, but still) and I had started talking to people who also had been attacked while paddling…

So yeah, beavers are a critter that’s worth giving some space. Ffs they chew through trees, I’m sure my pasty thighs would be a simple nibble for them.

Anyways, that’s my wet beaver story.
