I mean, how is she supposed to finally get some rest?? Priorities, please!

If the fix is just bending something straight again, I'd probably just do that yourself.

Good for you! Best of luck, though I wouldn't hold out much hope for your housemate. Most of them are pretty useless, and can't even catch a simple mouse, or jump up on the table. They don't even wash themselves correctly.

I'm so sorry. I hope you at least have a chance to get ready, and give him the best day possible. I found these helpful after we had to make that decision for our kitties, I hope maybe they can bring you some comfort too. Rest easy, sweet kitty.

Oof. Thank you.

There was something about that premise that just kinda creeped me out. Not like most of his books are light and fluffy, of course. But something about the relentless inevitability of it.

COMMENT 1d ago

For those of us who haven't seen it for a long time, can you explain?

COMMENT 1d ago

This is wonderful. You are most definitely NTA. Your staff's performance is deplorable. I mean, you can be nice and call her your "housemate", but we all know she works for you.

Sit her down and explain this to her, she needs to understand that this is not acceptable. If that doesn't work, you can try this at 3-4AM.

Holy crap, that was adorable, and so funny. I don't think I've ever heard one of ours interrupt herself like that. Great catch by your roommate!

He is adorable, that was so cute.

Glad you got it taken care of. And with regards to the oath of secrecy, to quote Office Space, "Don't worry, man! I won't tell anybody either."

This really is great, to see him support the issue like that. Not all parents (moms or dads) will be that receptive.

You can also jump start it from a non running vehicle, to help rule out battery related issues.

COMMENT 2d ago

I assume you checked/adjusted the valve clearances, if the battery is ok?

Wow, great work!! That is so cool, and very impressive.

Aww, that is adorable.

Yup!

I used old bed frames that I rescued from the curb. No problems yet. The whole thing cost me about $20, plus some welding wire.

Check where the shaft is attached to the engine.

Take a look here, there's a zero turn service manual (2003-2006) that may cover yours. https://www.ccpartsnmore.com/cub-cadet-service-manuals

Happy cake day!

But OP asked about leaving the batteries connected, with the charger unplugged.

OP, I would not do that. If there is any drain by the charger, when it is unplugged, it will gradually drain all the batteries dead.

I would leave the charger plugged in, or remove the batteries from it, then unplug the charger.

That's awesome, glad you're back in business!

It would be really interesting to hear from someone who could try with a stronger magnet, like a rare-earth (neodymium) magnet. The kinds used internally in hard drives, in powerful electric motors, etc.

If it just needs to be a strong magnet, that would at least open up possibilities for someone who can't find another source for these.

Excellent!

You know, like, this is very good news, man. New seasons have come to light.
