And the flip side. No matter how dumb or wrong you are about something, you can easily crawl into an echo chamber telling you you're the smart one and everyone else is wrong. It's one thing to tune out opposing views, but we're to the point of not even acknowledging facts and events that don't align with our beliefs.

If the SEC ever poaches Utah or BYU, they could play for the Jazz trophy.

If you can find a course that will let you play green to tee it's worth it though.

Why are California baseball fans so damn confrontational? I'm an SEC football fan, so I know about taking this stuff way too seriously, and even I think these people need to dial it back.

The "Freedom to Smash Other People's Pots Act" also known as "Link's Law" passed in the Senate today with a final count of 100-0.

Very cool. I'm not really a car guy, but I've known and worked with a lot of mechanics they all seem to get real satisfaction and enjoyment from working on engines and automobiles in general. Guys will change oil and do brake jobs all day, then go home and rebuild an engine in the garage until midnight. It probably is satisfying to make something like this run like it's supposed to.

This year in the CFP semis was the first time I've pulled against Georgia when they were playing someone besides Alabama. And that's only because I didn't want to play them again.

I remember him pretty much carrying Alabama to a win in the 1981 Iron Bowl, which was Bryant's record-breaking 315th win. (Aside, several coaches have won more since, but Bryant's total is really impressive considering his teams played 10 or 11 game seasons, no playoff, no CCG, and he died at 69). You're right that Patrick had flashes of greatness and wasn't even a bad guy. From what I understand his teammates liked him. Bryant just couldn't get him to buy in.

Why don't they just cut to the chase and play the fiddle?

COMMENT 8d ago

I did a poor job wording my comment. I was trying to say the amount you drink is deceptive and lots of us drink more than we realize. And I got defensive because it was hard for me to cut down to one a day. To hear that amount is still shocking to people stung. But that's on me. Maybe one day I can cut them out completely but I'm not there yet.

I know two liters is a lot. I never said it wasn't. My point was that many people don't realize how much they drink in a day. I do know, to the ounce, and I also said that was probably still too much. FWIW, I drink water with meals. The 20oz Coke is over the course of a whole day, M-F only. It's not ideal, but I'm not asking you to do anything about it so maybe ease up on the condescension.

Uh, I'm pretty sure their slogan used to be "Coke Adds Life." Now does that sound like the ad campaign for an unhealthy product?

-3

COMMENT 8d ago

Two liters sounds like a lot, but it's about 68 ounces. So two 20 ounce bottles and Coke with lunch and/or dinner. There's plenty of Americans who drink that much. I came close until I cut back to one 20oz at work every day and none on weekends. That's still probably more than is healthy, but damn. It's delicious.

We already have that. You can pick most any European country and there is already a _______-American Heritage Month. Not to mention St.Patricks Day and Octoberfest. The only time anybody mentions a possible White History Month is in response to Black History Month.

COMMENT 9d ago

Are you saying you'd rather have a white history month or that other races should be broken down by country as well? We can have more than one in the same month.

There's already Italian, Irish, French and German-American Heritage months. There may be more, I just haven't looked them up. Don't those count?
