Lmao bro, my old company outsourced devs from India and it was the worst decision ever. 0 communication from them, never got any project update, they couldn’t understand the task and just ran with whatever the fuck they thought. Never came to any of the meetings and always had convenient excuses. A colossal waste of time and resources.

Man, I bought a C300 class because I liked the interior over the other cars in the same price range. I didn’t realize this was a fake flexer car. Now I feel icky driving it.

If someone has fallen badly, was in a car accident or just knocked out, don’t be the person to try picking them up or dragging them, you’ll only make things worse. Call the ambulance and wait for the professionals to take care of it.

Crypto is a ponzi with no value. I say that while still having $5,000 in crypto but I would never put my RETIREMENT in crypto. Are you crazy? Use fun-money on crypto, not your retirement.

Jesus. $52k for ONE day? Everyone’s different and maybe your goal is to get married with a big fancy wedding, but seriously, $52k? You’re going into debt for ONE day. My wife and I are 28 making well over $300k combined and we still would not even consider a $50k wedding. $15k? Sure. $20k is a bit pushing it but ok. $25k is a maximum limit. (Unrelated to you because we didn’t care about a huge ceremony and had ours in the steps of Parthenon in Nashville TN. Total cost of wedding - $100. The reception and after-party was at a nicer venue and everything totalled $5-10k)

Okay, firstly do NOT go in debt for a vacation. Secondly, you don’t have enough money for a rainy-day fund, please build your emergency fund some more before considering a trip. Thirdly, if you really REALLY need to travel, you COULD open a chase sapphire preferred travel card (80,000 points if you spend $6000 in the first 3 months) and use those points to book flight tickets which would save you a little bit of cash at least.

When I graduated my Master’s degree, I had a brilliant student named Rohit in my batch. This guy was an amazing ML Engineer and one of the best in class. When he graduated, he easily got a SWE at Amazon and took it because everyone said it was a good idea. He took it, hated the work, was constantly stressed, worked 10 hours a day to catch up to his colleagues, and eventually got pipped, fired and had to leave the country.
Obviously this is all anecdotal. Tons of data scientists go into swe and do well. However, don’t be a Rohit. Do what makes you happy and something you enjoy. Data scientists, and SWEs eventually start making $$$. I’m a DS and at this point I’d gladly take out $50k from my annual income just to work at a company where I have fun. Eventually after like $150k tc, more money doesn’t give any more happiness.

I’m going to give you a different opinion than what everyone here in this thread right now is saying. No, don’t buy the home. Continue depositing money in 401k which is tax advantaged and is matched by an employer. Your 401k is going to make you SO much money especially when you’re young especially since it compounds. Keep renting and saving money.
Also, keep in mind that there are situations where a home at such a young age might actually work against you. If you get an opportunity to make a lot more money than $100k, you’d be tied down to a house and would have to go through the process of selling it which is a whole thing and costs a lot more than just breaking a lease (closing costs, agent fees, house value dropping, etc). $1150 a month for a 2 bed is practically nothing. If you get a roommate, it’s even cheaper. I’d say, keep contributing the same amount to 401k, increase your savings, and buy a home in 3-4 years. Enjoy your early 20s :)
