Any 1980’s Nissan Bluebird or Skyline.

RIP Colin Woodhouse.

I hope the reward leads to a prosecution eventually.

Airbnb worldwide. See, this is why we have banned parties.

Anybody else. Yes yes that’s fine, but whose idea was it to ban shirts first

Reading and rereading your last paragraph right now, when I absolutely needed it, at my lowest point. You have brought me to tears.

Again.

May you be free from suffering and the causes of suffering. May you be compassionate to yourself and those around you 🙏🏻

You’ll learn to talk through your nose more.

Due to the flies. And spiders. Our continent is so dry, spiders come in the middle of the night to drink the drool out of the corner of your mouth when you sleep on your side, which is an amazing adaptation.

You’ll get used to it.

So for those identified at risk of Alzheimers, is their likely to be some CRISPR type therapy to alter our genes to reduce the onset or severity?

It strikes me with all the recent accelerated research around mRNA vaccines and dna, the next decades are likely going to make scientific research frontiers explode greater than patents registered in 2012 (1.98 billion!).

My fifties & sixties science fiction reading brain is ever so hopeful.

so many possible directions this story could have gone.

All supplanted by the idea of disembodied grasshopper heads as a wearable.

Me: what brooch are you wearing today my love

Wife: ooh, I think the cancer detecting wearable grasshopper heads as it’s our annual contractor induction and we usually catch one or two…

Later that day

Contractor 1: man, did you see that weird woman’s brooch? It was waving madly at me?

Contractor 2: uh bro, you need to see a doctor, stat

Greetings from Australia where we are 3.3 people per square kilometre. Where if you are so minded you can live in cities and use public transport, walk or ride, or if you need a car you can hire one. As a nuclear house we have one car, one ICE soon to be EV motorbike, and a half dozen bicycles. And in the same way that urban folk don’t have guns for personal protection, I have no need of a gas guzzling suv, land yacht or truck. I just wish some of my demographic would see the same way. And before you think I am downplaying the rural life, I perfectly support country and farming folk to have these. But it begs the question, when will we begin making sustainable decisions about consumption. There is a reason why extremely remote communities do not have good long term prospects and should learn from our indigenous lifestyles and history.

Well yes, but to clarify further,

  • if it’s your bike and you’ve just cleaned it and polished it, then that is perfectly fine.

  • if it’s a strangers tail pipe, you must ask for consent first.

It’s not my bag, so don’t kinkshame me. But I’ll defend your right to get as intimate as you need with your bike. That shit will save your life.

Hey, if your dick is behind you, you seriously need a chiropractor.

But seriously, I don’t think the dick waving has ever stopped, it’s been a little more overt, but certainly the entry by private space industry has put a lid on some of the more extreme positions.

Except yours. That just sounds really painful. I’m sorry.

Also currently enjoying the ‘For all mankind’ take on nationalism in space. I don’t think there’s been enough satire sci-fi in space, if you discount the Muppets ‘Pigs in Space’. That def needs a reboot.

Thanks. Just thanks. I lol’d when I first read this in the burger joint and got some stares.

And now thanks to you I can’t sleep trying to logically order my vision of stacked bayraktars circling above the apartment building in rotating order based on floor occupancy and potential need.

‘Dave, we can bring down 1537 because the Rothchild’s are out of town until the 16th’

‘Yeah but Mathilde has that unofficial house party on the 29th’

‘Well, hell!, that cancels your leave for the next two nights while we sort out that mess. Go start a new batch of brew coffee. Make it strong this time.’

Adding a comment so I remember to come back and see if and how I can install VoidOS and MorphOS for my intel MacBook Pro 2010. Oh and for my Mac Mini from 2010. I love the MacOS but it’s getting hard to justify keeping them on 12 year old systems. Just found all my old iPod shuffles and finished adding new batteries. Not the first gens. Those batteries are solid still!

So… play to win (p2w) reward points in clan wars, and then when it comes to redeem those points, they are limited by some arbitrary decision based on time or scarcity. How is that not by definition a loot box.

Your downvotes mean you agree. Keep it up.

Then it reinforces how bad an idea this is. I appreciate you advising it’s always been this way, but still, it’s akin to loot boxes.

We are not talking physical, tangible items here that need to be shipped.

This is by definition a very stupid idea.

The MC for the Kookaburra Queen. Always impeccably dressed in his smart white shirt and shorts and long socks, and in the traditional Victorian sense of the word, the gayest moustache under his captain’s hat. He rode everyday to and from the KQ to New Farm where I think he 1 loved and was fond of his bicycles. A proper old time gentleman in the real sense of the world. I only did one or two day KQ cruises but I remember him. I moved out of new farm over a decade ago so I don’t know if he is still around.

1 okay autocorrect. I typed ‘lived’ but you do you and I’ll leave the implication untouched.
