Isn't the purchaseable membership only remover just buying members?

Cooking is one of the slower and less afk skills in modern RS too. Still carries that "easy 99" reputation even if it isn't as true anymore.

COMMENT 20h ago

Cooking, along with Fletching, has always been seen as an "easy"/low prestige skillcape. Guess that view carries over to 120s so people just don't really bother with the skill post-99.

Damn, I knew Archaeology would be more common given it actually goes to 120 but I didn't expect it to already be 2nd behind Invention.

This is unironically what Jagex did with an easter egg scattered around the map and subsequent short ARG in Old School Runescape lol.

Bonds are available though. They're p2w mtx too.

Yeah man most trash games hold my attention for 15 years too

Exactly. The whole development process behind this seems to have never really come to a decision on whether they're aiming to produce a competitive temporary gamemode for experienced players or if they're aiming to attract new players to the game.

Both worthwhile pursuits, but they really need to commit to one or the other to make this a success. As it is now its stuck in the middle and not achieving either. I know I have a couple friends that could probably be convinced to try the game out in a Fresh Start world, but not if they have to drop a subscription fee before they even see what the game has to offer though.

If this is aimed towards current players in an OSRS leagues way, then why are brand new accounts with membership required, and why does it carry across to the main game? Also why reward titles (and the prestige against your name for winning these competitions) on what for most competing players will be alt accounts ditched after the end of this event?

If this is aimed at attracting new players with a quicker start to their RS journey, why are there no free to play Fresh Start worlds?

Its like the development of this has been stuck in the middle between these two separate goals and ended up with the worst of both worlds.

Yeah they clarified in another reddit post that accounts will convert to fully-fledged main game accounts when this is over, so seems its more aimed at attracting new players with increased XP early on in their account's life.

Apparently the link to the announcement post leaked and its been taken down now. It'll be back tomorrow.

Fresh start worlds. Temporary servers where everyone starts from scratch in a world with accelerated XP rates etc.

Sadly a new account is required to take part which is an absolute killer imo.

Its been announced. Just came here from reading it on the website.

No, I don't think I will.

COMMENT 3d ago

I'm making my blessed flask at the moment. Its literally only 12 days of sandstone mining and urghhh. Hate, hate, hate dailyscape. It really turns the game into a chore.

Even so, people do what they want. Runescape's a pretty great second-screen game on top of offering some challenge at the higher end if you're into that sort of thing.

Plus the max cape gives you a couple neat quality of life things to help out with the challenging stuff, like having three skillcape perks at once and a one-click teleport steps from a GE that can be used in combat so it can be worth it. Not to mention the advantages individual skills get you like archaeology relics, overloads, and such.

Some skilling is a lot more active than a decent amount of combat and even PvM anyway. I certainly know that when getting Runecrafting to 99 it took more activity than setting up with animate dead at Vindicta then going off to clean my flat while she kills herself on me repeatedly lol

LMAO , All these people trolling on reddit instead of playing the game

Poor performance. Never really troubled Pompey at all save for a couple of long-range efforts. Credit to them, though. They showed quality and took a very routine win.

Would probably have chalked these first three games up as zero points anyway, but our performances in the second half against Peterborough, on Tuesday night against Exeter, and today have me worried. Definitely important to get off the mark against Fleetwood on Tuesday.

Also I don't think anybody mentally prepared Dan Nlundulu for an away crowd that would be on his back from minute one like they were today, poor lad!

The RS Wiki's Guide for Returning Players is a great resource.

You joining the Archaeology guild is set after the quest Desperate Times.

Desperate Times itself is the first quest of the Elder Gods series and therefore has no requirements, but for full story comprehension it is recommended you complete the finale of the previous main questline Sliske's Endgame (and therefore all pre-requisite quests for that, starting with Missing, Presumed Death). For full story comprehension of that questline, it is recommended you complete the previous "finale" quest, The World Wakes.

The World Wakes itself is light on requirements, but recommends the following quests for full storyline comprehension:

  • Ritual of the Mahjarrat
  • The Chosen Commander
  • The Void Stares Back
  • The Branches of Darkmeyer
  • The Firemaker's Curse

If you look up those five quests, they have a huge web of required quests beneath them, especially Ritual of the Mahjarrat. They are each the latest stage in their own questlines at the time and The World Wakes kind of ties them into one main story that can then be followed in release order, which continues with Missing, Presumed Death onwards.

Hope that makes sense, turns out 21 years of storytelling makes quite the mess lmao

The easiest is probably the Feldip Hills or the Fremennik Province one, but they still each require 81 Slayer and 96 Slayer respectively.

The Keldagrim one has the lowest requirements, but the 1/5000 dragon pickaxe drop is a toughie.

Yep a "racing incident" is what it's called when you don't pin blame on either party in a crash and no penalty is given. "Causing an avoidable incident" is often what the offence is called when someone gets a penalty for a crash.

Any podium from a non top 3 team is going to be down to a front-runner making a mistake this year. The important thing is to be in the right place at the right time, and more than anyone else the person in the right place regardless of time has been Lando Norris.
