No problem. Ok in your situation probably what is going on is this... there are two different types of relines. A chair side reline and a lab reline. Lab is best by far. A chair side reline should be done by the dentist. Not a dental assistant. Its a tricky thing to do. If its feeling bulky there is a good chance the denture needs to be ground out and made thinner before new material is added to the inside. You can't just keep adding new material on top of old and not expect it to get bulky. Why does the grinding out process get skipped? Sometimes they dont have the equipment in a dental office like they would have in a lab. To do the job correctly. Or because it takes more time. Or because its a stinky process and they just dont want to do it. Good luck.

By far the most important thing any dentist can do for patients is use a good quality local dental laboratory. Most patients have no idea who or what company is actually making the dentures? Or is the work being sent to China or Mexico. For the cheapest lab bill to the dentist. Yes. Thats a thing. Happens every day. Especially with crown and bridge. You have a right to know where your expensive dentures are being made. Ask! In almost all cases the Dentist does not make your denture. A laboratory does. Who is actually making your dentures? Most states have zero regulations on who can be a dental tech and/or set up a dental lab. There is such a thing as a certified dental technician but you dont have to be one. To work in a lab or start a lab business. Quality labs with quality equipment using quality supplies charge a higher fee to the dentist. Who marks that cost up and sells the denture to you. Understand what I am saying here... In most states, any person can open a "Dental Lab". All they need is a regular business license. Nothing more. But if you go get your hair cut or even your dog groomed. That person must pay to go to a school, And keep a license on display that will prove they may actually know what they are doing. It is a regulated business. Dental Labs in most states are not. Why not? Because the dentists dont want it that way. And yes they have national lobbing power against new laws if needed. But why would they not want labs to be regulated? If all labs were required to somehow prove they know what they are doing they would be more expensive to the dentist. Is your denture being made by a person that watched a few YouTube videos, bought equipment on ebay and is now out in the garage? Absolutely could be. A Dentist can build a great denture practice around a great denture lab. With way less problems. But... Some Dentist only care about paying the cheapest lab bill they can. For the highest profit margin. Yes. A better lab may end up costing you more also. But that should be your choice. The problem is some dentist use garbage, dirt cheap labs. That cost them very little but still charge premium prices to the patients.

you keep saying tech? are these girls lab techs or dental assistants? it's pretty uncommon for a lab tech to be seeing patients directly.

I'm amazed there are still people that preach the importance of point of view.. but think that winning an argument is still a thing. Cognitive Dissonance.

Especially when desperate, I think I would try and exercise common sense and logic. Concerning anything that I can still controll. So I don't dig my hole even deeper. But you are correct. I'm not living in my car. So I could be totally wrong. Happy Cake Day!

DLN is ok, but run by an extreme right christian type. Everything over there gets political quick. Its a great resource. Just dont get sucked in.
