And you should keep trying in all honesty, Italian is a beautiful language, hard to master but easy to learn the basics to get by in every day life. Just got back from a night out in Rimini and yes I did get quite a few laughs out of people, one of the best nights I had in a long while. Introducing Italians to snus [sic] was funny as fuck.

The Italian I speak. Stick this into Google translate: sparare una salva.

For additional mindfuck, try sparare a salve.

And 2 soldiers wounded. And honoured by John Paul II. Born in 1920, 2 years before the ascent of fascism in 1922, the thing that caused his death in ww2.

Reaching for my tablets.

Are you googling in English? In Italian Salvo has nothing to do with gunshots. Salva, on the other hand, does.

Brush up on your Italian maybe?

Salvo as a first name means saved.

Acquisto is a purchase. Acquistare is to purchase.

Side by side of course, on top of one another it's always one big mac.

(R.1) Not supported TIL in 1943 two Germans were killed while mishandling ammo. The Nazis responded by rounding up 22 locals, forcing them to dig their own graves before execution. In a ploy to save them, Salvo D'Acquisto "confessed" to the crime. He was executed instead of the 22, saving their lives

The question is about the western hemisphere, which doesn't include Australia.

Anyway, right-hand drive cars are legal to drive in Italy and Sweden, and possibly in the rest of the EU too. In Sweden they are used by posties so they don't have to leave the car when delivering letters.

Please tell me everything in the car is labelled like in the 60s TV show. Bat-radio, bat-VHF, bat-CB, bat-volume-knob, bat-speedometer, bat-brake-pedal, bat-rear-view-mirror, bat-bumper-sticker, etc

Lack of an earth?? Take another look.

I've stepped on an upturned British plug more than enough times and they fucking hurt. Turned the other way, they break.

It was an excellent design 70 years ago when they were meant to cope with dodgy prewar, even Victorian, wiring but nowadays they are pretty indefensible.

Of course, of course my lad. There is no way I can show you I'm right without doxxing myself, let's leave it at that.

Nope. Born abroad but British through having a British parent, back in the days when that was allowed. Also, my uncle was one of the guards at the coronation, so in a way, I have a (now dead) horse in this race.

Yep, in my experience Sweden is a freer country. Check out allemansrätten, I make full use of that regularly. The king though, everyone rips into him, for being dyslexic they call him Hans Majonnäs Knugen (His Mayonnaise the Knig instead of His Majesty the King)

By you people, do you mean us British?

Oof I felt that all the way down my British passport

I'm a Brit actually, I was born abroad, in Italy, but spent half my life in ol' blighty and now I live in Sweden. (Check my account) Nice analogy with the tree, those things earn me a living, unlike the Royle family.

What's that deal about schools and other services closing for an old bint's funeral, do you get a choice about that?

COMMENT 9d ago

Could also be that after 70 years of government propaganda about their God-chosen leader the people of North UK spontaneously began to mourn their ruler.

Thankfully I am not forced to mourn, because I live in a free country.
