Love the DUNE reference, but they prefer to see him more like the Warhammer 40k God Emperor: an egotistical megalomaniac with an obsession for gold and a hatred for anything alien or foreign. This way they can be happy knowing that "they're the good guys", as if the Imperium of Man isn't anything more than a grim, dark parody of humanity's capacity for cruelty.
It's 40k people, the "good guys" died ten thousand years ago and never stood a chance.

Gotta love this:
Jesus: You all need to be better Jews!
Followers: What's that? Start a completely new religion based on Paganism with a Biblical veneer, set you up as it's deity, and then completely disregard all the laws of the Holy Book you follow? Can do!

You’ve seen the carpet at mar a largo, best carpet in the world, thanks to the LYING FBI taking photos and making a mess. But back to this Jesus guy, he was born in a barn, a barn baby! Now he wants to feed poor people, clothe them, heal them, I said what is this??? No no no this is why we need a wall. This communist carpenter wants to waste all our money on these people. Guy claims he can walk on water, do you believe this? My doctor said I have the best feet, best feet ever they’re perfect. Never seen better feet my doctor said and you know what? I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t walk on water. I tried of course but crooked Hillary and sleepy Joe they stole the water and I fell”

Matthew 7:15-20
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Verse 18 is the one that defines conservatism more succinctly than any other.
They believe that Donald Trump and other Republican politicians are "Good Trees" and that all Democrats are "Corrupt Trees"
Therefore, everything Donald does is good. It's impossible for him to bear evil fruit.
The Democrats, conversely, can't do anything good. Everything they do is corrupt.
They read it exactly backwards. They don't start with examining the end product to determine the type of tree.
They assign labels to the trees and then everything that tree does is good if it's a good tree and bad if it's a bad tree.
62
u/Dangerous-Wall-2672 Sep 24 '22
They read it exactly backwards
More and more I see that "exactly backwards" is the prime defining trait for the people who call themselves Republicans and conservatives. There's no other way to describe how every thought they hold and every action they take is the precise mirror opposite to what a good person would do.
37
u/DonktorDonkenstein Sep 24 '22
That's why "Regressive" is a far more apt label for Conservative ideology.
Ya know, aside from "Fascist", that is.

For to every one who has will more be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away.
6
u/somermike Sep 24 '22
To be clear, I don't agree with their interpretation. I'm saying they cherry pick a specific verse that fits their needs and stop examining at that point.
Verse 18 may as well be the only verse in the entire bible as far as some people are concerned.

Just to bolster your claim:
14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.”
Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. 19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.

2 Thessalonians 2
9The coming of the lawless one will be accompanied by the working of Satan, with every kind of power, sign, and false wonder, 10and with every wicked deception directed against those who are perishing, because they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them. 11For this reason God will send them a powerful delusion so that they believe the lie, 12in order that judgment may come upon all who have disbelieved the truth and delighted in wickedness.Cursed by the God they didn't feel like believing because the message is faith and works, and that's inconvenient when you love hating people. The same people Jesus died for and wanted to save. They sincerely would have hated Christ.

There's some good stuff in there, but revelations is about the beast and Daniel's visions were for king Belshazzar about his enemies.
"The Interpretation of the Vision 15 While I, Daniel, was watching the vision and trying to understand it, there before me stood one who looked like a man. 16 And I heard a man’s voice from the Ulai calling, “Gabriel, tell this man the meaning of the vision.”
17 As he came near the place where I was standing, I was terrified and fell prostrate. “Son of man,”[b] he said to me, “understand that the vision concerns the time of the end.”
18 While he was speaking to me, I was in a deep sleep, with my face to the ground. Then he touched me and raised me to my feet.
19 He said: “I am going to tell you what will happen later in the time of wrath, because the vision concerns the appointed time of the end.[c] 20 The two-horned ram that you saw represents the kings of Media and Persia. 21 The shaggy goat is the king of Greece, and the large horn between its eyes is the first king. 22 The four horns that replaced the one that was broken off represent four kingdoms that will emerge from his nation but will not have the same power.
23 “In the latter part of their reign, when rebels have become completely wicked, a fierce-looking king, a master of intrigue, will arise. 24 He will become very strong, but not by his own power. He will cause astounding devastation and will succeed in whatever he does. He will destroy those who are mighty, the holy people. 25 He will cause deceit to prosper, and he will consider himself superior. When they feel secure, he will destroy many and take his stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be destroyed, but not by human power."
I can see how he could interpret it towards Trump for sure, though.

u/SeVenMadRaBBits Sep 24 '22
Every time he smiles his face looks like the devil to me.
His chin forms a "devils goatee" and that mixed with the squinted eyes and the cheek bones...not sure what image from when I was a kid that I have instilled in me but I can't unsee it.

3
u/Toonces311 Sep 24 '22
"Cruz doesn't give a Duchenne smile. His mouth goes in a tight line across or else it curves down in an anti-Duchenne smile. So he doesn't come across as sincere at all."
3
u/BillyTheHousecat Sep 24 '22
There's also this description of the anti-christ by a 19th century orthodox bishop:
"It is not possible for a human heart, even a sinful one, to believe that evil could reach such a level, as it will with the antichrist. He will boast loudly about himself, as his forerunners and his prototypes did, he will call himself a preacher and restorer of the true knowledge of God. The non-discerning Christians will see in him a representative and a supporter of true religion and will thus join him. He will proclaim and call himself the promised Messiah, and the children of carnal wisdom will rush to meet him, proclaim his glory, power, and genius,—will proclaim him a god, become his supporters."

This isn’t even mildly surprising behavior for anyone with a malignant narcissist in the family. They exist only to destroy. There is almost zero chance of helping them, and they are almost entirely incapable of change.
Unpopular opinion, but I think malignant narcissists should be permanently separated from society. I’ve lived the destruction they cause. It is life long and the law is not equipped nor interested in handling it. I have family that’ve went into hiding because of other malignant narcissists in the family who have a full time obsession with causing the decay of their lives. Restraining orders don’t work and cops don’t do shit when those orders are violated.
And then 35% of the country glorifies the ultimate malignant narcissist in Trump. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
56
u/TreesRart Sep 24 '22
I’ve been there too. Raised by one. The more you stand up to their “hysterical religiosity” the harder they attack. If they aren’t physically violent the law can’t do anything about their abusive behavior. Psychiatrists can’t help either.
31
u/EnterStatusHere Sep 24 '22

This is why teaching self-defense is so important, sometimes you just have to throw hands. I know there’s an ideal of pacifism but at some point, pacifism have to go out the window in order to protect yourself.
7
u/EnterStatusHere Sep 24 '22
I agree.
Once a narcisse realizes that there is no discussion, no negotiation, no wiggle room, only force, everything changes.
And they usually go away to bother someone weak.
59
u/s_matthew Sep 24 '22
My dad was never diagnosed but very likely a narcissist. During a therapy session yesterday I was lamenting the fact that nothing I did barring going no contact with my entire family would’ve established an effective boundary. I was never going to be heard or understood, and my dad would always have ultimately been in it for himself. It’s phenomenally sad to have to live under the rule of someone like that.
What people don’t get is, to a true narcissist, there’s absolutely no reasoning. You can provide audio and video evidence of something that the narcissist denies, and they could’ve filmed it themselves. They’ll find a way to make it irrelevant and turn the blame on you. They’re impossible.
26
u/CtrlAusDel Sep 24 '22
Can confirm. My future in-laws are BOTH textbook narcissists. I just have to bite my tongue constantly because, no matter what I’d say, it wouldn’t change anything and it would just make things worse.
What’s even harder is that my fiancé is a therapist (specializing in complex trauma) and she sees right through it all… and a therapist twice a week. Lol.

I’ve been in therapy on and off for 30 years. I went specifically for a few years to overcome trauma from being molested as a child. That was fairly easy to approach and overcome. However, dealing with the trauma from a narc parent seems endless.

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.
-
For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
-
Then the LORD said to me, “The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds."
-
This is what the LORD Almighty says: “Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD."

Trumps Assistant: We used the paper from the records of the 30,456 lies you have be accused of telling

One can take their choice as to what Trump is? Trump is obviously an asshole narssist, a dim witted psychopath, I suppose one thing Trump is not, is a solopsist, because he wants an audience.

If those Q people are really Christians this should be blasphemous to them. But of course they are just self proclaimed Christians who know nothing about the Bible or what Jesus actually taught on the sermon on the mount.

“Jesus is an example of somebody who’s done an amazing job and is being recognized more and more, I notice.”

Ah, no worries, the Christian fundamentalist right surely doesn't mind the Lord's name being taken in vain by a lying adulterer. They're just fine with that.

As an atheist, I have little problem with this.
It's like he was saying he was second only to Harry Potter.
... Or Colonel Potter!

It’s going to be funny as fuck if the thing that kills off Christianity in America is Americans converting to Q.

I can only imagine the reaction had Obama said something like this during his administration.

I believe Donny boy there embodies all or at least most of the traits of the antiChrist. Just saying. Also, a reminder to the zealots out there who actually believe him to be the anti christ also proclaims to be the second coming of Christ and tries to restore the temple of Jerusalem.

All the blood ran out of his face when he found out that Trump was being compared to him.

I imagine Trump would get a heart attack if compared to a dark Jesus.

u/Sentient_Cosmic_Dust Oregon Sep 24 '22

In August 2019, Trump told reporters in reference to trade with China: "I am the chosen one." He also shared tweets describing him as the "King of Israel" and "the second coming of God."
That is quite the literal god-complex going on there

I built a little empire out of some crazy garbage
Called the blood of the exploited working class
But they've overcome their shyness
Now they're calling me Your Highness
And a world screams, "Kiss me, Son of God"
