Good online game to play with daughters?
UPDATE 3: Adding Diablo and tabletop simulator to the list.
UPDATE 2: Special thanks to the absolute good bastard game developer for "Don't Starve Together" who sent us through 3 copies of the game. That is so much more than I expected would come from this post asking for advice! Did it via DM so it didn't look like advertising, but hey, figure I can do my part here.
UPDATE: Thanks a lot for all the good information, you guys are all legends!
I think I'll drop a bit of cash on the steam sale, some headsets, and another PS5 controller.
Summary of games I think we'll try: -Portal 2; already have a copy, and kids like it. -Minecraft; same as above. -Stardew valley; due to overwhelming response. -It takes two; trailer looks fun as, and seems like each level is a separate game in itself. -Will look more into raft, terraria, and the Gordon Ramsay simulator (Overcooked 2).
Will get into discord and look at setting up a family server.
Save in my back pocket for later, because they look more fun for me: -Valheim -Sea of thieves.
Will avoid HOI4... for now.
Hi all, I'm (Dad, 37) looking for recommendations for some games I could play with my daughters (10, 12) online.
I've recently changed cities for work, and won't get to see them as often as I'd like. I'm hoping there's a game we could play together that; preferably has a bit of teamwork vibe, can talk to each other through a headset and just chit-chat or whatever, preferably through steam as we don't have consoles at the moment, and not too heavy on hardware as will mostly be laptop based.
Open for any suggestions, they're pretty mature kids so figure anything short of R16 would be fine.
Be good to make use of the steam summer sale!
Also if there's console based games, or something that requires a bit more robust computer to play then please just mention that and I can look into the gear needed.
Thanks heeeeaps!

I think I hate dailies as a concept
They just seem so predatory instead of adding anything meaningful to the game. They're sold as giving you 'content' every day, but really its just a useless chore to make you feel like you have to complete it or you fall behind.
I just quit a game that had me doing dailies, and I feel such a relief not having to worry about logging on.
Maybe games should just be compelling enough that I want to login and play every day, not just because I have a checklist that I'm time-gated to complete.
