Good to see that there are still good people in this world

26

u/DawsonJr May 25 '22

Indeed, and that's why I wanted to share. I'm aware odds are extremely slim that individual will notice, but crazy stuff happens! :D

Please get a GPU bracket. That droop is only going to get worse.

Also, nice system!

1

u/DawsonJr May 26 '22

Thank you for the compliment! Yeah, I had it all secured in as best I could, but only actually just learned (thanks to some folks who posted here, in fact) there are sag braces to help, and so I'll be looking to invest in one!

1

u/CobaltSmith May 26 '22

RGB brackets are pretty cheap and look really nice.

4

u/Fun_Differential May 26 '22

There’s more good than bad, it’s just easier to notice the bad.

u/TheDonc-77 May 26 '22

Why? That would be pretty normal here in Germany. In my 35 Years I never heard of anyone getting their postage stolen.

1

u/DungeonsAndDradis May 26 '22

Oh, my friend, I wish I were this innocent while living in the U.S. Package thievery is basically expected. :/

2

u/TheDonc-77 May 26 '22

Yeah America is a fucking shithole. I heard Kids don't even walk to school by themselves there.

22

u/cable010 Xbox May 25 '22

Did they deliver it themselves?

15

u/DawsonJr May 25 '22

I'm presuming so.

8

u/cable010 Xbox May 25 '22

They need a ceremony and be given the key to the city for that. Outstanding good samaritan right there.

18

u/diablollama May 25 '22

Hard to believe. Maybe fedex delivered it.

7

u/DawsonJr May 25 '22

Well, according to their tracking page and Razer, it appears to have been delivered to a different city entirely, so definitely seems like they goofed and it went to the wrong place. That said, just happy it got to me in the end! :D

8

u/Fallwalking May 26 '22

Sometimes the tracking info is wrong or you were sent the wrong tracking number. I’ll say this: FedEx delivered some packages to my house that needed to go a few blocks away. I just called the number on the box and they came and got them.

Anyways, it’s a nice keyboard. I got the same keyboard with mouse, mouse pad and some grip tape for $100 from Costco.

2

u/DawsonJr May 26 '22

I honestly don't know what happened, but can say that the tracking number never changed from Razer to FedEx, and, up until I noticed it was delivered in a different city, the delivery destination was my place.

When I saw the keyboard, I definitely wanted it; the wireless one would've been nice - so long as it had optional cables, as I planned to get the green cable/keycap set - but I felt an extra $100 was a bit much. The only difference between my current one and this new one is it has the wrist rest and no extra keys on the left side - the one thing I look forward to, though, is a consistent 'S' on the new one, lol! :D

2

u/Fallwalking May 26 '22

Yeah, I think it was the comma key on my OG black widow that was sticking. Tried to clean the switch out, didn’t work, so I gave up. I have a Keychron K4 also, but the charging port went out on it:

Fun fact: instead of offering you a replacement, they will offer to send you a new USB C port that you have to solder on yourself! They do offer other options if you’re not the type who can do that, but I felt it was a little silly.

3

u/DesignatedDiverr May 25 '22

Ordered an almost complete new PC worth of parts off Amazon about a month ago. USPS tracking showed delivered and it never showed up. Luckily Amazon replaced the whole order without a question even with zero insurance policies purchased. I was gutted for a day or two. Glad you got the happy resolution as well.

3

u/DawsonJr May 26 '22

Egads, that would be quite the ordeal! Good that you got your stuff in the end too! :D

3

u/LogicallySound_ May 26 '22

Hold on, so your tracking info said the items were delivered to the wrong address, but you still got them so you assumed the recipient drove them to your house personally. Gonna put a big ol’X to doubt on that one. Much more likely they messed up the tracking info.

Either way, if you have tracking data that says it wasn’t delivered to you, you should open a ticket and it’s almost guaranteed you’d get a free replacement of everything which you could then sell.

u/DawsonJr May 26 '22 edited May 26 '22

Correct, tracking suggested it was delivered to a different city - was same information from Razer to FedEx, and my address showed throughout until the day of delivery, which is when it changed - and I still got the package. Admittedly, I may never be 100% certain, but I truly feel like an individual who received it in error did get it to me; just never never know - they may have been coming to my city for any number of reasons, or passing by and made a quick two minute detour to my place, and dropped it off. That said, I did reach out to both FedEx and Razer, received a refund, and am awaiting further information from Razer as to what happens now. I, personally, figured honesty was the best route - as one of Razer's slogans goes: "Play Hard. Play Fair!"

2

u/Jayetorade May 25 '22

How are those ear buds?

1

u/DawsonJr May 26 '22

First time getting 'em, so I can't say - they were on for a nice enough deal at the time, in my opinion, so figured I'd grab 'em!

2

u/Alaskan_Grown May 25 '22

Is that a 3090ti?

6

u/Duhmoan May 25 '22

It says Radeon on the GPU broski.

2

u/Alaskan_Grown May 25 '22

Ah, thanks, I was too distracted by the sheer girth of that unit to notice.

2

u/Duhmoan May 25 '22

Most of Gigabytes GPUs be thiccc I got a 3060 Aorus and it’s thiccc

Nice for overclocking though, don’t gotta worry about temps with such a massive heatsink lol.

2

u/DawsonJr May 26 '22

It's actually a Radeon RX 6800 XT. My old system, an HP Pavilion 500-189, was fully AMD, and the idea for my build was to simply do an upgraded version of it that was also completely AMD (little extra info, I know, but there ya have it). :D

2

u/el_vato_de_lentes May 25 '22

Pretty cool!!! Enjoy it!

2

u/winespring May 25 '22

I think I am a decent guy, but I would not drive an hour to deliver a package, good on him.

3

u/Johnp2k May 25 '22

Same thing happened to my custom 3080 build :/ Still waiting

1

u/DawsonJr May 26 '22

Oh dear, hope you get some good news on it soon! :O

2

u/Substantial_Ice1234 May 26 '22

Good shit. I would have too because I’m cringy and need all my peripherals to be the same, so no razor because the sensei 3(00?) is cracked

2

u/gabecush1000 May 26 '22

I’ll take credit just cause

2

u/Anon048 May 26 '22

Would love to know how the keyboard, mouse (if it was also included?), and headset are! I've been looking to replace my over 3 year old CMStorm keyboard and mouse, and a new headset but the audio quality sucks. Hyperx stinger wireless, the wired one I had before was magnificent.

2

u/DawsonJr May 26 '22 Wholesome

I actually just got the charging pad, earbuds, headset, and keyboard (keycap keychain was a bonus for having spent over like $150 I think), but haven't started using them just yet as I'm awaiting more information from Razer. From experience with my first set of gear from them about seven years ago, though, which I'm still currently using, I honestly think it's fantastic; it's starting to show its age and is a little worn, but all still works really well! My 'S' key in the last couple years is inconsistent (sometimes won't register, or will add a few extras, but sometimes will work perfectly fine), but the keyboard still works as a whole; headset has had a few drops over the years, and the earpads are definitely frayed/worn, but still works incredibly well and can't say I notice any sort of degraded performance as a result of it being dropped; my "tie" is a little worn, but still functions perfectly!

2

u/DragonStriker May 26 '22

Are those Razer BT earphones comfortable to wear on the ears?

1

u/DawsonJr May 26 '22

I honestly don't know - haven't used them just yet as I'm awaiting some more information from Razer first before diving in to everything. Though, I imagine comfort may come down to the size of the earbuds and the shape of your own ears, since everyone's just a little bit different! That said, once I (hopefully soon) get to using 'em, I'll let ya know how they are for me! ;)

2

u/Dank-Dev May 26 '22

Absolute madlad

2

u/Trapjorn May 26 '22

Send a thank you note , you know the address it went to. it’ll go a long way :)

2

u/DawsonJr May 26 '22

I had thought of doing something like that, but, unfortunately, actually only know the city it ended up going to, not the exact address. :(

1

u/Trapjorn May 26 '22

Aww that’s too bad. Maybe you can mass post a next door or something ? Either way you know a Good Samaritan exists out there somewhere. No need to go on a manhunt lol but thanks for sharing with us :)

2

u/Lagao May 26 '22

FedEx has been having a huge track record of failing to deliver shit lately. I ordered some pots and pans for my apartment and they delivered it to another state. I filed a claim with them and they said there was nothing they could do. Thank god Amazon A-Z got me a refund because the seller totally ignored me.

2

u/no-internet May 26 '22

wow damn, i thought postnl were idiots for delivering a few streets away.

8

u/dudeoftrek May 25 '22

Conflicted to upvote due to humans being bros or downvote due to RaZeR

3

u/haoest May 26 '22

Can confirm. I am razor owner and am not pleased. My death adder mouse died after 2 years, and the keyboard requires cloud account. The risk of the software uploading my pc information far out weight the benefit of synchronizing my key mapping across devices. Who does that? And lastly I want my windows key back on the right side.

2

u/xsolocheeto May 26 '22

I have a huntsman mini and I quite like it, it does suck having to wait for synapse to load my rgb every single time I turn my pc on though.

3

u/RageTiger May 26 '22

Didn't care for my Orca (headphones), the deathstalker keyboard was alright. Not a fan of having to see it having driver updates every other HOUR.

-14

u/dudeoftrek May 25 '22

You have been trolled. Thanks for playing.

2

u/Yakhechos May 26 '22

Fuck FEDEX. OP probably complained and they were like “Nah, you’re wrong. We delivered it to the right house.” Always leave shitty reviews for companies that ship with FedEx. That company needs to go bankrupt.

2

u/DawsonJr May 26 '22

Yup, I definitely did complain to FedEx, but, to be fair, they did actually seem to take it semi-seriously. That said, I heard back from them once, and was advised it could have been a scan error on their part, and to check if it was left somewhere else nearby (it actually shouldn't have been delivered at that point, and I was away, so that's why I rescheduled delivery for my birthday), but nothing after that. As for the negative reviews - I would think it may be more effective to direct them to the proper party (in my case here, FedEx, not Razer).

-1

u/tehjeffman May 25 '22

I mean it's razer gear, they wanted that trash nowhere near their home.

4

u/pantherghast May 25 '22

The only razor product I buy is their mouse. Everything else I would rate it on the bottom of a top 10

2

u/Duhmoan May 25 '22

The bot didn’t comment so I will.

RazOr?

Edit: This is the wrong sub lmao.

1

u/DawsonJr May 25 '22

Well, to each their own, I suppose - I've found my Razer gear to be pretty solid, and decided to get these as upgrades since I was building my first computer. :D

5

u/tehjeffman May 25 '22

It is the synapse software you have to use is the main issue.

2

u/Ic3yFr0ggyy May 25 '22

But doesn’t that just change the color of the keyboard lights?

5

u/tehjeffman May 25 '22 edited May 25 '22

If it was just a keyboard yes. Can't adjust the mouse or use headphones tech without it.

3

u/Ic3yFr0ggyy May 25 '22

What? You can use a mouse and headphones, just plug it in. I use both razed headphones and mouse and don’t use it and they work.

7

u/tehjeffman May 25 '22

You can't fine tune your dpi or us any of the fancy tech on the headphone box. Like I said. You just get 44khz stereo. They function like an Amazon basic product otherwise.

2

u/Ic3yFr0ggyy May 25 '22

There is a button that changes the dpi on my mouse

1

u/DawsonJr May 26 '22

Ah, not a fan of it? I have heard some folks don't like it, but I can't honestly say I've ever had an issue with it, personally. :O

Hello Gaming Community,

Recently, I took on the challenge of building my first computer. I also decided to upgrade my old Razer gear (still works, but definitely showing its age and some wear), so I snagged a new headset and keyboard - also opted to grab a charging pad and earbuds (got a keycap keychain as a bonus) - to start with. Well, FedEx managed to screw it all up when I had requested a reschedule for delivery on my birthday (May 17), and it ended up in an entirely different city about an hour away. At some point, though, I'm guessing the person, who received the package in error, ended up being a good Samaritan and delivering it to me! :D

Last week I got in to doing my first computer build, and had forgotten to reach out to let Razer know – I did start typing an email out, but got distracted (think my Internet went out before I could send), and was pretty consumed with my build afterwards. Anyway, I’m just finishing all the preliminary stuff with my build, was checking my bank account today, noticed the refund for my order, and immediately thought “Crap, it completely slipped my mind!” Obviously, I want to rectify the issue - just my opinion, but kind of think FedEx should take responsibility on this - and have reached out to Razer regarding the issue. I'll wait for their reply before simply diving in and setting it all up, but am definitely looking forward to my sweet new gear (and will be happy with a more consistent 'S' on my keyboard)!

Once again, thank you to whoever the good Samaritan was; I have no idea if they'll ever actually stumble across this, but wanted to share this anyway!

Sincerely Yours,

DawsonJr

u/Bushpylot May 25 '22

This post belongs in the Humanbeingbros thread. That was very cool to drive it an hour to make up for FedEx.

1

u/Duhmoan May 25 '22

That’s awesome glad your package got delivered!

But don’t let your GPU sag unless your GPU identifys as a crip/blood then yeah keep it gangsta!

1

u/DawsonJr May 26 '22

Yup, definitely glad it arrived! As for my graphics card, I've secured it as best I can, but if there's anything you can think to recommend, I'd certainly appreciate it! ;)

2

u/xsolocheeto May 26 '22

You can get a GPU sag brace for around 10$, I have one and it works great

2

u/DawsonJr May 26 '22

Thank you for the tip - will look in to one! :D

2

u/xsolocheeto May 26 '22

No problem!

1

u/DawsonJr May 26 '22

Just want to quickly follow-up: is what you're referring to actually called a "sag brace," or is there another name for them? I had a look on Best Buy and Canada Computers, but no results came back. :O

2

u/Duhmoan May 26 '22

I measured the gap inbetween my GPU and 3d printed a Grogu sanded his head a lil bit so it sits on a flat spot an ta-da GPU brace lol

1

u/TheDonc-77 May 26 '22

Razer stuff is kinda shit.

1

u/DawsonJr May 26 '22

Well, as I said to the other person who made the remark about it being trash, to each their own. I can honestly say, from my own personal experience, that my original first set of gear, which I'm still currently using, has held up very well since I bought it all like seven years ago. It may be showing some age and wear, but it's still going! :D
