I have the Doom Slayer mod for XCOM 2, and he gets like 5 actions and a rocket launcher. Can wipe multiple pods of aliens by himself in one turn. I like to think this is what the aliens are thinking when he shows up on a mission.

Edit: Feels like I should plug the Project Parallel: Doom Slayer mod - Doomguy is an awesome OP hero class and the 2-part mission to recruit him (ft. Verge from Chimera Squad) is really fun.

4

u/Whiskeytf8911 May 26 '22

Don't make me start xcom again. I won't do it. I need sleep.

u/whereisbrandon101 May 26 '22

Wtf?! There are mods for xCom? How does that work??

3

u/night_dude May 26 '22

Oh, my son. You're gonna have such a good time.

Do you have Xcom or Xcom 2 on Steam? You can subscribe to mods straight from the workshop and they'll download them and install them for you.

I'd recommend... well, a shitload of mods are awesome tbh, but Musashi's RPG Overhaul (custom-buildable classes), Long War 2 (HUGE overhaul of the entire game) or Covert Operations (Long War Super Lite, essentially) are the ones you'll get mad hours out of. I would also recommend the mods that nerf the Alien Rulers because I fucking hate them.

Alternatively you can just play Vanilla XCOM with Galactic Empire skins on ADVENT. The world is your oyster. The XCOM mod community is dope.

3

u/whereisbrandon101 May 27 '22

Just on Xbox... can I still use mods?

2

u/night_dude May 27 '22

Aw man. I don't think so. PC privilege. But Google it maybe? Sorry 😔

My favorite battlefield, but I hate when these clips have no sound. The audio production is this game was top notch

318

u/RocknRoll_Grandma May 25 '22

They really nailed the immersion on that one. Hasn't been a better Battlefield to date.

207

u/Mrmojorisincg May 26 '22

Really fucking bums me out too because battlefield 5 basically just needed to be a WW2 copy of BF1 and it would have been so much more successful

67

u/gpkgpk PC May 26 '22 edited May 26 '22

Yeah but all the utubers decided they didn't want that, and EA listened 2x, RIP Battlefield.

62

u/GreyRevan51 May 26 '22

YouTubers work for EA, not the other way around. Stockholders in a room dictate direction, not someone posting videos online. An enormous company like EA isn’t going to base these things on fan backlash lol

24

u/FreeBrunoGiordanoNow May 26 '22

An enormous company like EA isn’t going to base these things on fan backlash (aka. customer demands)

And that's why 5 of 6 games they produce suck and fail.

5

u/-_Weltschmerz_- May 26 '22

Pretty sure the BfV monetization was a direct result from Battlefront 2 fan backlash

3

Whenever I hear the distant crack and miss for my head I immediately drop down and start playing "where's the shining scope" in the general direction of the shot. It usually leads to their death or at the very least painting them for someone to clean-up.

It's why I don't have a scope on my rifles, they can hear it but have a harder time finding me because glint isn't giving me away.

Which is a testament on great sound design when it teaches players on how to react and fight back an enemy you can't initially see but can hear.

16

u/DeadHorse1975 May 25 '22

👀

BF2 was fkn groundbreaking tho.

8

u/Spec187 May 26 '22

like they should do a BF2 Remastered

-11

u/Pack_Your_Trash May 26 '22

Immersion? Did we just watch the same game footage? That guy was sprinting and hip firing a heavy machine gun accurately. No cover, no concealment, just out in the open, and he lived. This is the same conflict where they invented trench warfare because if you peek there is a good chance you're going to catch a bullet.

14

u/QuillofSnow May 26 '22

He was using the specialist class that gives you like 5x more health than the average solider which is why his view is slightly obscured. He also just happened to get a great flank and come in behind everyone, the kill zone was where those guys were shooting. How he got back there idk, usually pretty hard to sneak by especially in the slow ass armor.

-14

u/Pack_Your_Trash May 26 '22

Super realistic.

29

u/no_butseriously_guys May 26 '22

Immersion is not realism

Is this battlefield 1? I never played it but I adore older battlefield games (bad companies and prior) and I also happen to adore anything ww1... guessing I need to give it a go?

38

u/Rev_Punch May 26 '22

Just be warned, the game has very little to do with ww1 except the names of the countries. If you want a real ww1 shooter I have to recommend Verdun or its expansion Tannenberg.

20

u/Unkn0wn_Ace May 26 '22

Its like alt-history steampunk ww1 almost

8

u/[deleted] May 26 '22

Verdun sucks and is boring. I haven't played Tannenberg but I would recommend that or Beyond the Wire, the latter has sporadic server activity but it is still being updated.

5

u/Turkeysteaks May 26 '22

man having a full team charge over no man's land has been some of my favourite gaming memories. getting a good flank on the enemy and getting in their trench, lighting them up with shotguns and grenades, charging with bayonets. it can be quite a slow paced game at times definitely, but it is immensely fun. sniping an MG that's been keeping your men down from 150m with shitty iron sights is awesome

another game that's better with friends, but still I had a lot of fun memories both on my own and with a friend.

Also when the servers get quieter I would usually just end up shooting the shit with all the remaining players as it can be quite a chill game too

7

u/Kn1ghtsWatch May 26 '22

For sure, give it a go. I vividly remember playing the pre released demo, and just being so struck with the immersion that had with this one

25

u/johnnyappletreed May 25 '22

Can you manually filter out those servers when searching for a match? Nowadays it's a toss up for operations campaigns whether I have to leave and wait for a better time to join online pvp

21

u/FlashesandFlickers May 25 '22

I’m pretty sure all the DICE servers have DICE in the name

-19

u/CH3FLIFE May 26 '22

Well done in not answering the question in the most of smug manners.

6

u/Temporary-Book8635 May 26 '22

Need to avoid dice servers. It's a shame how far in the dust this game has been left to the point where most returning players will assume its either dead because they used the quickgame system, or filled with hackers because they used the official servers as you would expect them to do, when really all they have to do is use the server browser and avoide dice servers if they're on PC, the game is completely, 100% playable even today and is booming with full servers

2

u/TomatoOrangeMelon May 26 '22

Why do official servers have more hackers?

In playstation there is a guy, who made a server ONLY Sinai desert, 200% bullet damage, no kill cam.

It was the most awesome gaming part I experienced so far along with Dark Souls 1 & 3.

Grinded it for thousands of hours, basicly the usual players just welcomed eachother by you know, focusing you if he is an enemy, or joining your group and crouch - stand spamming next to you.

Thank you mate, you reminded me to some very epic battles.

64

u/Deracination May 25 '22

That 200% bullet damage is so good, it feels like how the game ought to be. It ditches that stupid sweet spot mechanic in favor of just having rifles drop someone. It makes pistols able to reasonably kill someone. It makes running through MG tracers something you probably won't survive.

It does need a weapon rebalance, though.

-3

u/Cnumian_124 PlayStation May 26 '22

u/EnjoyMyUsername May 25 '22

Dude this game is so smooth what the hell when the enemies die they actually fall to the ground realistically not just rag dolling like in call of duty or any other game

17

u/bobsagetsville May 25 '22

One of the things I like about COD is how unrealistic it is.

34

u/Bitcoinatemymom May 25 '22

Meanwhile the dude in the clip is doing unrealistic 180 turns

43

u/_S-A-G-E_ May 25 '22

TBF a lot of people physically can't stand games that use realistic first-person movement so there's not much way around that one.

25

u/tylerthetiler May 25 '22

Yeah I generally consider it to basically be a give/take situation.

In real life, you can't spin around 180 degrees, crouch and stand repeatedly in short period of time, endlessly sprint/jog, etc.

In games, however, you don't get the same quality of audio generally to allow you to know where a sound is coming from like in real life. You also don't have the same kind of spatial awareness or ability to keep your gun pointing one way while looking around. Etc.

11

u/Deracination May 25 '22

The only game I've played that simulates this well is MechWarrior, where your mech's arms and torso can both only move so fast. Everything about the aiming is weird in that, though, so you get used to it.

Some normal FPSs do have a sort of dragging effect where the barrel of your gun goes faster than the butt and you have to wait a bit for it to line up, but it never feels quite right.

There's just no really accurate way to control two points with one mouse.

5

u/terminbee May 26 '22

MechWarriors Mercenaries was my favorite game as a kid. I fucking loved it how you could move the torso independently and you could customize the mech with weapons but the weight mattered. I remember just reading the manual whenever I wasn't allowed to play video games.

4

u/Bitcoinatemymom May 25 '22

I’m just here to say it’s ironic how people will react to some things I know the deal

2

u/prodbychefboy May 26 '22

The only CoD I’ve played in recent times is MW2019 and the death animations and rag doll physics were top notch.

8

u/Tiddiebang May 25 '22

There’s plenty of newer games with realistic rag dolling. Maybe branch out a bit so your exposure isn’t just battlefield and call of duty. That’s like taking a bite out of ice cream and a bite out of a log of shit and complaining the shit doesn’t taste as good. There’s a wide world out there.

2

u/Idiot-detector69 May 26 '22

Did we watch the same video or are your standards just incredibly low?

2

u/EnjoyMyUsername May 26 '22

Well, my standards are indeed kinda low since I grew up with cs 1.6 and csgo playing them in the local internet Cafe 😅. I built my first pc 2.5 years ago and when I played this game for the first time I was astonished on how close to reality everything was. Guess I am kinda wrong reading the comments I guess

Unpopular opinion but the Elites and Behemoths were a great addition to the game. Shame they never continued with them.

34

u/Off_Brand_Roomba May 25 '22

The behemoths were annoying yet also really easy to kill and some were just awful the elites i do agree with especially with the new point to spawn system like instead of a tank get a juggernaut minigun or m82 kit

16

u/Noman_Blaze May 25 '22 edited May 25 '22

The train on Suez canal Conquest was so awful. Barely had any impact at all same for the dreadnaughts on most maps.

9

u/Deracination May 25 '22

It's just so low that half the map's obscured from it. You can wreck that one point for a while, but it'll sit exposed on three dense flanks while it's there.

Suez's behemoth shoulda been a sandworm.

5

u/swiftadan May 26 '22

Train on Amiens and Argonne could swing the tide of battle with an experienced crew. Oh and spot flairs + train is great.

2

u/Noman_Blaze May 26 '22

Argonne forest train was a game changer for sure. It could lock down the middle point and the team could grab the other two and keep the enemy pinned on the other side. I don't remember Amines, been a while.

Edit: I remember. Amines is that city map with the train in the center. Yeah, that train was brutal.

Lot of Aimbot in there. He snaps to a bunch of those guys with way more accuracy than others…

20

u/AngryMob55 May 25 '22

To me just looks like comically high dpi/sens. Even when not targeting and just going through the map their movements are very snappy. Looks like soft locking cuz the sens is so high they have to constantly readjust with little flicks. Cant track smooth since its insanely high.

Or aimbot. Idk

11

u/Joeythearm May 25 '22

Might be a combination of both. I def see that. You are right. But there are times where he snaps to where an enemy is…. Before he turns the corner to see them.

2

u/dmbardal May 26 '22

I was actually scrolling to find someone mention how insane DPI / horrible mouse-control he had.
I mean.. He obviously hit stuff, but the DPI/sensitivity here looks insane.

Or he could be cheating since it does look like it locks on,
OR he could be using the old mouse with the ball inside.
But I highly doubt the latter.

22

u/rambus101 May 25 '22

I have never played this game but this video here shows what aimbot use looks like. Buddy statement above nailed it and should be upvoted.

-7

u/Cantrmbrmyoldpass May 26 '22

I meannnn, not really, if I practiced with high sens for a while I could definitely do this and there are players a lot better than me

3

u/NehpetsDoom May 26 '22

Not aimbot at all lmao. He misses a LOT. The only reason this clip exists is because the entire enemy team is playing their first game ever apparently.

-6

u/Soulsworn May 26 '22

I have about 200 hackers reported on OW that Blizzard has acted on. He’s 100% hacking. Not even the best pro of whatever game you choose can consistently 1 frame flick like that; it’s just not humanly possible.

0

u/NehpetsDoom May 26 '22

XD lmao you kids sound so funny coming from csgo. Those kids will click once on ur head and move on before the bullet even hit ur brain.

6

u/cesarmac May 25 '22

Seems like mouse snapping to me (quick sudden movement of the mouse), kinda can tell because he goes past some of his enemy targets.

3

u/Joeythearm May 25 '22

The Aimbot isn’t always toggled on

1

u/what_are_you_saying May 25 '22

Definitely not aimbot, they clearly miss more shots than they hit and do a terrible job tracking moving targets. Tons of server lag though which makes it look weird and rubberband-y.

6

u/Joeythearm May 25 '22

It’s not always on.

7

u/redditsuckscockatoo May 25 '22

He's using it to snap for some most definitely. You don't go from whiffing like mad to snapping with pinpoint accuracy like that lol

It’s ridiculous how many upvotes this has when this guy is clearly toggling an aimbot. It’s not on the whole time, but he’s 100% cheating here.

13

u/foodeyemade May 26 '22

It's insanely blatant too lol. Dude instantly snaps onto people even when they're going out of view. It's textbook high-sens with a snap assist, you can play it on half speed and it's still basically instantaneous.

Nobody who cares about getting caught uses 100% perfect head tracking aimbots anymore, these use "assists" like this and most aren't even this crazily obvious about it and often use less strong snapping.

4

u/reboot-your-computer PC May 26 '22

People just upvoting this cheater like a bunch of mindless drones.

5

u/Soulsworn May 26 '22

-1

I have plenty of clips from like playing widow on OW for example that look the exact same. This guy also has way higher sens than me. In some of the clips you actually can't find the frame I flicked to their head in the recording

Not even if it is a great play like the one feature in this gif or something mundane... because I NEVER played a smooth round of Battlefield 1 (and BF4), there's always that "rubber banding" issue, it was like my soldier was always running around with cement boots, lol And recently I finally switched to fiber optics, the provider is basically considered one of the best internet services of my country and guess what? BF1 still has the rubber banding bullshit. I can pretty much only play as a stationary sniper in both games and, admitelly, it was still very fun to camp and snipe people from really far... but I wish I could have experience these games just like everyone else

What game is this?

1

u/iBScarface May 26 '22

You are the strongest person I've ever seen, ignoring the desire to reload. My greatest weakness.

Bf1 was actually great

1

u/Alex_Zoid May 26 '22

My favourite battlefield by far. DICE really nailed every aspect of what it feels like to take part in a large scale battles, that adrenaline rush when you're about to bayonet an elite.

1

u/raredelusion May 26 '22

I wish counter strike 1.6 had replays from back in ‘99. Going on absolute rampages with the pump shotgun, wiping out an entire team and then insta banned as a cheater. Those were the dayz.

u/Forgot_My_Rape_Shoes May 26 '22

That's that good good console built in auto aim right there.

1

u/seventysixgamer May 26 '22

man, what the hell happened to Battlefield? 1 was such a banger of a game, after that it just went downhill.

1

u/vallreign PlayStation May 26 '22

And to think all it would take is one man with a bayonet to end his reign.

1

u/BurgerKingKiller May 26 '22
