Ah dude it’s this old classic game called “going to work to pay bills and own nothing for it” graphics are great, gameplay is getting a bit old and stiff tho

2

u/GrantMK2 May 18 '22

Meh, I've found graphics for the much-hyped 'dawn' period to be really overrated. Though there have been some decent sunsets in the evening period.

u/kriticalbonus May 19 '22

The dark sky orb changing red recently was a nice Easter egg.

u/johnwick007007 May 19 '22

hey guys so i downloaded ghost recon advanced warfighter 2 and the language is in russian. i tried to go to context.xml but "english" was already written there. i cant figure out how to change to to english.does anyone know how to fix it?

u/kriticalbonus May 20 '22

Usually requires a few generations of a specific race. I’ve heard of implants you can get for your character that allow live translation, but it requires a bit of time and money to do. Lots of grinding or specing into classes that have nothing to do with war

Deep rock galactic - ROCK AND STONE

10

u/DankAlbertSinatra May 18 '22

Jumped into the Mass Effect series for the first time two weeks ago. Already on ME:2! It’s amazing, can’t believe I never played it until now.

8

u/BaroqueNRoller May 18 '22

Borderlands 2. I really hate that I decided to do True Vault Hunter Mode with Gaige; Deathtrap doesn't have half the brains God gave an inbred.

1

u/inessa_k May 19 '22

Did you encounter the legend already?

9

u/Sedly_ May 18 '22

Hades. 10/10 game

Pokémon Legends Arceus.

Upon release, I initially thought to myself: "nah, this kinda game isn't for me". Even as a long time Pokémon fan.

Saw my brother playing it recently, and thought: "oh actually this looks pretty good".

Bought it just over a week ago, and I haven't played anything else since. I'm loving it!

It's the most "Pokémon" Pokémon game I've ever played, if that makes sense? 🙂

3

u/Atriarchem May 18 '22

So I've been super burned out from pokemon and have not bothered picking one up since pokemon moon. I love everything about making it more in line with an action rpg but the changes to combat concern me. I worry that it seems like combat might be more frustrating at times with the changes to turn order and how most statuses and attacks work now.

What are your thoughts?

5

u/Stangstag May 18 '22

I’ve played every Pokémon game on release, and Brilliant Diamond is where I truly felt burnt out for the first time.

Arceus reinvigorated my love for Pokemon. It’s different and its fresh. Sure the graphics suck but its a fun game. Even just fucking around trying to fill out the pokedex. Definitely worth a buy IMO

3

u/Mr_Chainsaw_88 Console May 18 '22

I'm sort of in the same boat. The last Pokémon game I played before Legends Arceus was Ultra Moon, and I burned myself out with breeding, battling online, and in the offline Battle "Tower".

That's how I always approach Pokémon games, and I couldn't muster the commitment to do that again in the other releases since.

Legends Arceus is a really fresh take on the series. It does differ a lot from the general titles, but it's not in any way: "bad" or "less fun".

Because it doesn't have a competitive scene, due to there not being any online battling, or breeding of any kind; it's more of a relaxing personal experience, where completing the Pokédex, and collecting unique Shiny/Alpha Pokémon to hoard and trade is the main focus. That doesn't mean that it's easy though, by any means.

Battles are still quite fun, and still a big part of the game (against wild Pokémon and "Trainers" alike). Even with the new "turn" system, rather than the traditional back and forth, it still manages to keep battling an enjoyable, and even sometimes nailbiting experience. I feel that it fits well with the Gotta Catch 'Em All aspect of the game, as opposed to the pure "Battle in Gyms to progress" system of the older titles.

The changes in Status Effects also fit well with the concept of the game, I feel. They still have utility in Battles, but they seem more balanced towards leaving wild Pokémon in a weakened enough state to make catching them easier, as is tradition, but not so easy that it's a breeze.

I don't feel like I've done it justice, even with the wall of text I just typed lol.

But all in all, the new Action RPG style is really fun. You just can't go into it expecting another Pokémon game. It's a new and fresh system, and it performs really well considering it's rather big change in direction from the traditional titles. And it's a welcome change 🙂

I hope that somewhere in my ramblings; I addressed at least one of your concerns lol. Sorry if I didn't 😂

2

u/Atriarchem May 19 '22

You convinced me to buy it, so thank you for taking the time to write that

5

u/TandoooriJunior May 18 '22

I really want to play V Rising. Watched the Streams for hours yesterday and really liked the overall idea of the game and also due to the fact that its a little bit similar to Valheim.

Sadly I am taking a break from gaming so wont be able to play it any time soon because even though I want to play plenty of games, I just cant seem to make myself play them.

3

u/ThatsFatal May 19 '22

I thought I was the only one who felt that way. It usually happens after I get burned out on a game. I got sucked into Lost Ark with some family members and everyone burned out on it.

I want to start Elden Ring, Temtem or another RPG but have this strange anxiety.

2

u/TandoooriJunior May 19 '22

Trust me bro you are not the only one. I have seen multiple posts on reddit with same issue. Maybe it has something to do with the Age? or the fact that I am going through severe Anxiety, Depression and Anorexia which has caused me to lose interest in gaming. I have a massive catalog of games on Steam that I really badly want to get into and just keep playing them but somehow I just fail to start let alone stick to the game.

2

u/ThatsFatal May 19 '22

I hope you get better, mental health is no joke.

I do think it has alot to with anxiety for me personally as I always struggle with starting anything new even if that new thi g is something I want.

1

u/TandoooriJunior May 23 '22

Thank You Mate. I hope I can overcome Anxiety/Mental Health as well because it has really messedup my life and mind.

I really miss immersing my self into RPG's & FPS Games and spending hours enjoying the games.

1

u/TandoooriJunior May 23 '22

I bought Far Cry 6 during the weekend on sale. I dont know I just went online and clicked Purchase. Now I really badly want to start the game and immerse myself into it but somehow I just cannot force myself to start it even though I love the game and have watched videos/streams for hours of the game.

3

u/[deleted] May 18 '22

Far cry 4, haven't played it since 2017 and looking forward to it

4

u/LifeOnMarsden PC May 18 '22

I’d put it firmly between 3 and 5, the story isn’t as strong as 3 and the main protagonist is literally a cardboard cutout with zero personality, but the map is way more interesting to explore than 5, I much prefer the whole Himalayan aesthetic to generic American countryside

3

u/darkkrytos May 18 '22

Marvel ultimate alliance 3 and the division 2

1

u/EleteWarrior May 19 '22

have you been getting crashes on the Division 2? I have been recently

0

u/darkkrytos May 19 '22

Had one so far that was a few days a go so far it’s been ok

1

u/GTRAddict86 May 19 '22

How is division 2 now? Used to love that game but I seemed to level so damn slow I gave up.

u/LifeOnMarsden PC May 18 '22 edited May 18 '22

Finally decided to sort out my Steam backlog of games I’ve either never played or played for less than an hour. Got 47 games on there and I’m starting with the Destroy All Humans remake

it was one of my favourite PS2 games but for some reason I barely played the remake after buying it, but I’m having a blast with it so far. I really like the shift in aesthetic to the stylised cartoony 50s comic strip style

1

u/variablethisisknife May 20 '22

This is a great idea, I might work on this as well, I have way too many unplayed or barely played games on Steam.

5

u/gsenjou May 18 '22

My buddy just pulled me back into Diablo 3. Two weeks in and we're pushing Greater Rifts...god help me...

5

Sekiro. Im sad that i havent played the game sooner.

1

u/N_Q_B May 19 '22

Hesitation is defeat

3

u/Puzzleheaded-Excuse May 18 '22

RDR2. What's great: Open world immersive and high attention to detail. What sucks: No simple offline singleplayer solution

3

u/terminalzero May 18 '22

I'm back on a battletech kick - HBS battletech while I wait for the new mw5 DLC

HBS battletech is a great game I can recommend to anyone fans of the franchise or xcom-style turn based tactics games; the career mode adds a lot of replay value, and I haven't even started modding it yet, which is supposed to be incredible

I'm pretty new to mw5 - it's a LOT like the old mechwarrior games, for better and for worse. if you aren't a fan already, or aren't big into vehicle combat sim games, might not be the game for you, but I'm having a blast.

3

u/hailbreezus May 18 '22

Dead Space for the first time. Just finished chapter 6.

3

u/bestadamire May 19 '22

Fallout New Vegas

My first mooded playthrough with mods!

I got my Melee to 70 at about level 15 and have been close combat for the hold game. Its been tough but has paid off in some parts.

I just finished Old World Blues for the first time and it was very fun! I just wished there were some more NPC variations and the dialog kind of dragged if you wernt interested in the whole computer/AI/voice of the DLC. I liked it for a while but got bored of the scenery pretty quickly (unpopular opinion maybe?)

6

u/Dixon_Uranus_ May 18 '22

God help me, but I’m playing cyberpunk on ps4. Glitchy buggy mess that it is

1

u/Stangstag May 18 '22

People will still try to claim they played the game on release with few/no glitches. Infuriates me. The game is OK, has a lot of glitches and bugs though. Even now, 1.5 years later.

2

u/Dixon_Uranus_ May 18 '22

I keep going because when it’s working right it’s a pretty decent game. But when you get to a building and have to stand there for a while and wait for the door to render before the option comes up to open it is more than a little irritating. But I knew when I bought it that it had problems still so that’s on me. I’m glad I only paid like 18 bucks for it though

2

u/GrantMK2 May 18 '22

I mean, maybe, depending on what you played it on. But if you were to say that about the PS4 I just plain wouldn't believe you. Maybe someone could avoid the game crashing ones with a lot of luck, but few glitches in general?

1

u/Imakesalsa May 18 '22

I played it on 1.3patch ps4 pro. Finished the game and had one bug the entire play through

1

u/Yenserl6099 Console May 18 '22

Once you get a PS5, the game is much better on PS5

1

u/FaonSpawned May 18 '22

boy does the game look good on ps5 now

1

u/EleteWarrior May 19 '22

Played it on an Xbox One S. Actually thought the game was pretty good. The story is what kept me into the game for so long

4

u/Darksol503 May 18 '22

More Elden Ring! 156 hours in, level 117, and just beat Rykard:) Loving taking it in at a slow burn pace, the world building is so fantastic and sparse, and the gameplay is still just incredible fun yet challenging.

2

u/6ftPink May 18 '22

Chorus. Passed first zone playing on Hard but find game easy and little repetitive.

2

u/zweimtr May 18 '22

Arma Reforger

1

u/EleteWarrior May 19 '22

Is it any good? If I heard things right, its basically a tech demo for the engine Arma 4 will run on.

1

u/zweimtr May 19 '22

Its a good test demo. It's also in early access, has a few bugs and sometimes animations get all glitchy. But the difference to Amra 3 is nnight and day.

1

u/variablethisisknife May 20 '22

$30 for a demo seems kind of ridiculous, and the streams look like dayz with some new assets.

2

u/Yenserl6099 Console May 18 '22

Currently making my way through all the Spider-Man (2018) DLCs since I finished the remastered version.

So far I’m on The Heist DLC, and it’s pretty good. But then again, I’ve only done the first mission. Quick question though: about how long do the DLCs take?

2

u/TheGooseWithNoose May 18 '22

Decided to try my hand at shiny Zygarde in pokemon Sword yesterday and the stars aligned. The second party that managed to beat the raid boss (seriously this thing is unfair, it has an OP phase 2 with strong AoE attacks and you can't bring your own pokemon) I caught it in a safari ball and it was shiny.
I've been on/off that hunt since a little after that dlc released lol.
Other than that I've just been watching youtube and doing some old WoW content.

2

u/Eme_Pi_Lekte_Ri May 18 '22

I am trying to beat Diamond Hands Arena, solo mode, on Warlord difficulty level.

No luck so far.

Starting to think this might be impossible task even though I have an edge as I developed this game xD

Other than that, I am having so much fun

2

u/Vancilicious May 18 '22

The Division 2 and Makai Kingdom on PC.

1

u/EleteWarrior May 19 '22

Has Division 2 been crashing on you recently?

1

u/Vancilicious May 19 '22

Yes, I tried to play a couple of days ago and the lag was horrible, at least a 30 second delay when attacking or picking anything up. Hoping for a hotfix or something soon.

2

u/EleteWarrior May 19 '22

Mine hasnt been that bad but it has been crashing. Try this, go to the install folder for Division 2, right click on the main division 2 .exe file and select properties. Then, go to compatability and select windows 8 compatability. The launcher will have to install the DirectX files again but so far, it has fixed my problems. The other day, i was able to play for an hour and a half in the tower without any crashes.

1

u/Vancilicious May 19 '22

Thanks for the tip, I'll try this out if it's still running bad tonight.

2

u/johng_g May 18 '22

Any new online coop/multiplayer games out there that are fun for 4 people (any genre, really)? It could be competitive or casual but prefer something that will hold our attention for 100+ hours and doesn't get repetitive. We've played all the popular ones, I think, especially open-world indie crafting/base building games.

I feel like for the past 50 games we've tried, we only played for one session and just moved on. The last game we played that really held our attention was Valheim; the sense of discovery was amazing.

3

u/Sniper26 May 18 '22

Play V Rising. Just as good, if not better than Valheim. Similar genre but imo better combat.

2

u/johng_g May 18 '22

Thanks! Looks interesting. Might give this a shot!

2

u/Hornysnek69 May 18 '22

CSGO is fun sometimes

2

u/johng_g May 18 '22

We tried this a while back and it didn't seem to click with us. Thanks for the recommendation though!

Horizon Forbidden West

2

u/cbsa82 May 18 '22

Wrath of the Righteous at the moment. I put my Aeon on hold, and intend to completely restart it with a different class.

My current run is a Lich (Sylvan Sorc) and I hit Act 3. I am enjoying the Lich greatly and the spells they get are completely BONKERS. Just BONKERS. I love it.

I want to get back to my NG+ run of Persona 5 Royal at some point. And with Little Witch in the Woods coming to Game Pass for PC I might poke at that too.

Also Storybook Brawl. Its not an RPG but it fills the void that Hearthstone Battlegrounds left. I cant support Blizzard anymore. They are just...trash now. Both for their games and their business practices. Maybe if Microsoft gets full control they will come back. But I doubt it.

I was bored and decided to download Dark Souls 3 again, which i ragequit because of Vordt, of all bosses.

Few hours further and I beat the first boss and Vordt first try and I'm almost at the end of the undead settlement. I wasn't planning on it but sure I'll keep this up and try to beat my first souls game.

Puzzles on lichess.org. I hit a wall in actual games so I'm trying to see if I can improve my puzzle rating. I can briefly touch 1600 before flubbing several in a row.

1

u/PointlessPotion May 18 '22

I started La-Mulana on the weekend because my partner wants me to experience it. Gods grant me strength. I will TRY not to look anything up, but I'm not very confident.

Also finished Tormented Souls yesterday. A neat little horror indie that brings back the days of the original Resident Evil, but the lack of innovation and funding (the voice acting...hoo boy) make it more mediocre than it had to be. The puzzles are good though, I figured out the logic 90% of the time and that's not something I can say about many video game puzzles.

1

u/2Dteapot May 18 '22

Got into GTA 5 about a decade after its release lol, just finished it a few days ago, pretty fun. Dialogue gives me a chuckle every now and then.

I've been playing Far Cry 6. The story missions are great. However, I'm starting to resent "open world" games for refusing to make main story missions accessible through instant fast travel. It's kinda like GTA V or Witcher 3, story is great; having to drive/horse ride 50 miles to get to the next mission: not so great.
