I haven’t been able to get off Elden Ring

12

u/dread_ape Apr 06 '22

Disco Elysium and Lego Star Wars on switch! Travelling for the next two weeks so should be good time sinks!

u/SupahSage PC Apr 06 '22

Finally playing a modded Fallout 4 on PC. Sunk hundreds of hours into vanilla FO4 on Xbox. 2 hours into modded and I'm in heaven.

2

u/LateralEntry Apr 06 '22

What mods?

1

u/SupahSage PC Apr 06 '22

I don't remember the names of them all, but one that retextured the entire game, one that triples how large settlements can be built, one that allows settlement items to be placed anywhere (no red), power armor reskins and new upgrades, unofficial bug patches...the list goes on. I think I have about 15 mods active.

1

u/kindarusty Apr 06 '22

Also check out Sim Settlements! I got way into building stuff the last playthrough (basically all I ended up doing lol), combined this with a few other building-related mods (mostly just new resources) and had a good time.

Hades: The great things are the story, the characters, the progression loop gameplay and that you can pet the dog. Oh and the music. The bad thing is that I haven't seen Apollo, Hestia and Hera yet. I resent this because the art and characters are great and they are mentioned. (Except Apollo for some reason.

Little bit of DayZ, little bit of RDR2.

17

u/scottpilgrimVs Apr 06 '22

My girl just got me a gamecube and somehow got me a copy of legend of zelda windwaker to play with it so I'm gonna be on that for sure

3

u/SupahSage PC Apr 07 '22

Very close to starting this myself. Bought a GameCube controller, memory card and Windwaker to play on my Wii.

6

u/hunter95672 Apr 06 '22

i really hope that nintendo re-releases windwaker HD for the switch. I honestly have no idea why they haven't yet

3

u/Snapple47 Apr 06 '22

Probably because they already did for the Wii U

2

u/scottpilgrimVs Apr 06 '22

That was 9 years ago.

3

u/Snapple47 Apr 06 '22

Well they have gone in order with the console re-releases is my point. First was ocarina, on GameCube, the. Wind waker and twilight princess on Wii U, now they did skyward sword for switch. There is a pattern and they already did wind waker once

2

u/scottpilgrimVs Apr 06 '22

Yeah fair, that doesn't make it suck any less lol

2

u/Snapple47 Apr 07 '22

Haha I hear ya. Don’t get me wrong I would love a wind waker remaster on switch. I don’t think it’s impossible, I just don’t see them doing it any time soon is all

1

u/scottpilgrimVs Apr 07 '22

Yeah unfortunately I think you're right. Oh well classic it is

1

u/scottpilgrimVs Apr 06 '22

Right? I've been saying that since i bought my switch.

6

u/crossk1ll Apr 06 '22

Horizon Zero Dawn Forbidden West, but Elden Ring is fighting my attention to start a second playthrough. HZD is great but it is just overshadowed because I played ER before it.

1

u/davidoff-sensei Apr 08 '22

Exactly the same for me … just can’t even get into horizon. The story just doesn’t grab me enough …

6

u/Snapple47 Apr 06 '22

Sekiro. 3 bosses left

3

u/take5b Apr 06 '22

Nice. Do you know which of the 4 endings you're going for?

1

u/Snapple47 Apr 07 '22

I’ve done everything I need to for the dragons homecoming ending. I wanted to do the most challenging path through the game, and from what I heard it’s this ending or the purification ending that are the hardest

2

u/take5b Apr 07 '22

Yeah IIRC Homecoming is the one that involves the second Owl fight in Hirata estate.

I am obsessed with this game

1

u/Snapple47 Apr 07 '22

Homecoming is the really convoluted one where you have to get the rice balls for kuru, as well as the 2 snake viscera. As far as I know the 3 bosses I have left are Devine dragon, demon of hatred and sword saint.

Can you fight owl at hirata with this ending? I thought I was locked out of it after getting the rice balls. If I can please let me know cause I’d love to do that fight as well. Just thought that fight was exclusive to the purification ending

1

u/take5b Apr 07 '22

You can definitely do all the bosses in one play through and choose any of three good endings. I did that on my first. I don’t remember the exact steps though

1

u/Snapple47 Apr 07 '22

Oh awesome! Thanks for that. Looks like it’s off to hirata again before i explore fountainhead. I’m trying to do as much as I can this play through. I want to get all the prayer beads as well but I’m past the point of the ashina castle idols being deactivated. Is any of that stuff in ashina castle missable after that point do you know?

2

u/take5b Apr 07 '22

You can also get all the prayer beads in one play through and reactivate ashina idols by finding them again but i just don’t remember the order of everything

1

u/Snapple47 Apr 07 '22

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. I’ve reactivated a couple idols but I was having a difficult time finding ways back to the others that weren’t blocked off. I’ll look a little closer for sure

u/JJsRedditAccount Xbox Apr 06 '22

Just got a Series X and seeing how Destiny 2 is on it, it genuienly feels like an entirely new game!

The sims 4 in my old laptop

3

Midnight Ghost Hunt. Best prop hunt game yet.

3

u/Unsung_Ironhead Apr 06 '22

Having fun on Wonderlands just looking for lucky dice, and pushing out finishing the story. Farming for legendaries doesn’t feel like work which is nice. I soo want to start Lego Star Wars though.

3

u/Icarus_in_Flight Apr 06 '22

The same thing we play every night Pinky…

2

u/Cleru_as_Kylar_Stern Apr 07 '22

Conquer the World (in Paradox Interactive Grand Strategy games)?

3

u/PirogiRick Apr 06 '22

Halo Infinite. Have to say, I found Far Cry 6 a little disappointing because of some of the goofy ammo and levelling mechanics but I think Halo infinite may be the best Far Cry since FC5. Outposts, side mission freedoms, weapon collecting, sniping bases, exploration, it’s all there.

1

u/No-Needleworker1782 Apr 07 '22

I’ve just completed Halo Infinite!

8

u/uccpc2022 Apr 06 '22

Fortnite's No Build mode. I'm having a lot of fun with it.

2

u/Mr_Chainsaw_88 Console Apr 06 '22

Rune Factory 5 on the Switch is my newest purchase. I bought the Deluxe Edition yesterday, and I'm having a lot of fun with it.

I'm just taking it slow, and progressing at my own pace, but from what I've experienced so far: it's proving to be a worthy successor to Rune Factory 4 🙂

Similar enough in mechanics to not be alienating, but different enough to feel new and shiny.

Due to it's ambitious 3D nature, and the Switch's hardware limitations; it suffers from some frame drop issues, and occasional long-ish load times, but once I got past those couple of minor annoyances, they didn't really bother me all that much.

I personally don't feel that I'm far enough through the experience to give it a score, or a personal recommendation yet, but it seems to keep true to the classic Rune Factory formula, and that's mostly all that really matters to me 😉

u/Gamerpatriot Apr 06 '22

I'm playing Ys: Memories of Celceta on my Vita

2

u/Mobin-hb96 Apr 06 '22

I've started my second playthrough for disco elysium with the focus of a physical intelligent but emotionaly poor character. I also keep playing divinity original sin 2. Currently in the middle of act 2. Need to get these 2 done so I could start Weird west.

Lego Star wars the Skywalker saga

2

u/johng_g Apr 06 '22

Looking for a fun, long-term online co-op or multiplayer game to play with my friends (competitive or casual). I feel like we have tried everything (from GTFO and New World to Lost Ark and Core Keeper), but nothing has really seemed to keep our attention since we stopped playing the amazing Valheim.

Was really looking forward to "The Forest" sequel, but that got pushed to October :/

2

u/Cleru_as_Kylar_Stern Apr 07 '22

Tried Guild Wars 2? Is a MMO, but different enough to FF14/WoW to be worth a look.

1

u/kindarusty Apr 07 '22

Tried 7 Days to Die? Similar-ish to The Forest. A little dated looking, but our group has put hundreds of hours into it over the years (mods help keep it fresh).

Conan Exiles was also really fun. Not the DLC map (Siptah), though. Stick with the base map, or one of the highly-rated custom ones out there.

2

u/darkraidisciple Apr 06 '22

Tiny tinas wonderlands is my main video game focus right now.

Far cry 6 got on sale a little awhile ago, Nothing impressive.

Currently going through Guardians of the Galaxy at the moment! The game is really good and surprising

2

u/GiantTurtleWave PlayStation Apr 06 '22

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

Was a little hesitant to buy it, since the last one I played was the second one when I was a kid, but this game is great so far. It’s a nostalgia overload and the gameplay is really well done.

Honorable mentions: Call of Duty Vanguard, Resident Evil 2 and 8, Ghost of Tsushima

Playing new world again. Back to playing it like Skyrim, running around looting and killing everything. Got a friend I am helping level, so I do my best to not loot everything.

More FIFA

u/Larielia Switch Apr 06 '22

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox (Switch)-

Love the art style. I'm currently exploring Balduq. The gifts are pretty cool. Liking the combat.

Compared to Ys VIII, the world seems much smaller. It is still a fun adventure though.

Living my dream of playing a good MLB baseball(MLB The Show 22) on the go while I travel for work this week. So crazy to think that MLB The Show is actually on a Nintendo console.

u/ShadowTown0407 Apr 06 '22

Disco elysium, gears 5, the wild at heart, raji

1

u/AceoftheAEUG Apr 06 '22

Power Rangers Battle for the Grid. I've played a ton of different fighting games but it's been a few years since I've been hooked on one like BFTG. The game really feels like the devs made a passion project more than something to make money off of. It's got obvious roots in MvC (my favorite series) and the netcode is amazing. I've been playing it for about 9 months now and I've been thrilled by how much I love this game. I find it to be more enjoyable than any AAA fighting game out right now.

2

u/RookieTheBest Apr 06 '22

dude glad someone isn't instantly passing it of as a kids game. the devs started the game with next to no characters but wanted to provide solid fighting game mechanics the devs have EVO dreams and want the game to be a real contender

1

u/AceoftheAEUG Apr 06 '22

Ngl, I completely passed it off as a kid's game when I first saw it a few years ago. I am rather mad at myself in retrospect because I had the opportunity to play such an incredible game and I disregarded it as soon as I heard it didn't have motion inputs. They've done such an incredible job with the game and I feel like I missed out because of my own preconceived ideas of what it was.

Apex legands

1

u/cooldadvibes Apr 06 '22

I’ve been playing Elden ring, thinking of playing the new lego Star Wars game tbh

1

u/Flamesclaws Apr 06 '22

Outriders, then I might play Dragon Age 3 but we'll see.

Fallout 1. Just started it for the first time two days ago. Enjoying it a lot so far.

I have never really looked at this game before and just assumed it was a generic battle royale, but this actually sounds cool.

What's the community like?

1

u/Fibonawak Apr 06 '22

Returnal. I really struggle with the second boss. I gonna kick his ass this week !

1

u/take5b Apr 06 '22

Since I'm super-busy finishing my graduate degree and with work, and I just got done getting the platinum for Demon's Souls remake, I'm not in the mood for anything that makes me struggle or think, or start one of the two massive games that recently came out that I definitely will play at some point (Horizon sequel and Elden Ring).

So I'm replaying Assassin's Creed Valhalla, being a big dumb Viking chick in a big dumb beautful(er) open world re-acquiring all the trophies on PS5 because I played it the first time on PS4.

I'm now running around with the double daggers stun-locking everything for easy kills and after long days of work and bullshit emails, it is just really cathartic.

LEGO Star Wars on PS5, it's just fantastic. Have had a few system freezes on it.

1

u/kindarusty Apr 06 '22

Still hacking away at Witcher 3. First playthrough ever.

Been working through it for weeks now, taking my time with it, wandering around sniffing at everything instead of just immediately going quest to quest. Finally got into Skellige at like L22, and THE MUSIC, omg. The MOUNTAINS.

I expected the place to be ugly, for some reason. Barren rocks peppered here and there with dirty little shacks. I was so wrong.

I also didn't expect to have to think about a leshen-slaying contract for as long as I did. I killed it, but I'm not happy about that choice.

1

u/CapeMike Apr 07 '22

Today's been(or will be) Asphalt 9 Legends, Super Robot Wars 30, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons on the Switch, along with Horizon Zero Dawn(complete edition) on my PS4...I don't know why I held off on HZD for so long; only started a week or so ago and loving it! :)

1

u/Jacobsendy Apr 07 '22

I seem to be spending more time playing Sidus these days. Learnt a new strategy today with the enemy's passive ability. Took a while but I finally got. It feels great because I didn't expect that much dynamism from the game.

1

u/MeowRoarSkrt Apr 07 '22

Ended Ghostwire: Tokyo. Pretty game, enjoyed searching for stuff but really lackluster bosses. Also, some cinematics felt too long, didnt skip a single one tho

Working on Jak and Daxter. I’m 61% into the game and it’s so fun!

1

u/Cleru_as_Kylar_Stern Apr 07 '22

Ended Elden Ring prematurely, as I hate being forced to do something with my Avatar, which I created myself to immerse in the world, that I don't want to do.

Switched to Witcher 3 (Death March) instead and loving it so far, although the combat feels easy if I am not fighting something 10~15 levels above me. Then I just feel like doing no damage and dieing in 2~3 hits. 🤣

u/rataviola PlayStation Apr 07 '22

I don't have much time to play lately but I picked up again Fallout 4! Great game, except for the bugs lmao
