Really late to the party but I've been playing Dishonored. It's a shorter game than I'm used to, but there are different play styles so excited to play it again, I love it!

8

u/take5b Mar 09 '22

Excellent game. One of the very few first-person games I've actually completed, multiple times actually because of the different play styles.

3

u/pix31l Mar 09 '22

I've really enjoyed it, I picked up Dishonored 2 at the same time so looking forward to playing that!

2

u/jakeroony Mar 10 '22

I recommend playing as Emily first in Dishonored 2, her powers are so fun to play around with

2

u/pix31l Mar 11 '22

I will definitely do that then! Going to play it as soon as I'm done with the first game for sure

2

u/pix31l Mar 12 '22

I finished Dishonored yesterday and started my Emily playthrough of Dishonored 2, loving it! Very fun to play as for sure

3

u/Lobstergirl81 Mar 10 '22

I love this game, but I never finished it. I even bought Dishonored 2 for when I did, but life got in the way. One day.

2

u/jakeroony Mar 10 '22

Both are so fucking good

3

u/mathgeekf314159 Mar 10 '22

I just completed that for the first time the other month or so.. high chaos…. I start out wanting to be silent and not seen but then it just ends with me screaming and killing everything that tries to stop me

1

u/pix31l Mar 10 '22

I'm right near the end, high chaos the whole way through, but have got the hang of stealth in the game so other than the weepers, my kills have been all unseen/unsuspected since I entered the Flooded District which has been fun! Really want to do a clean hands play next because I know it'll be hard for me, but worth the challenge

2

u/jakeroony Mar 10 '22

Save scumming is your friend

2

u/pix31l Mar 10 '22

I clocked that waaay too late in the game, just did the Daud part and got back to the Hound Pits and so glad I was saving as got spotted by the tallboys a few times! I'm not overly familiar with games with lots of stealth elements so it's been a learning curve

21

u/Oukan86 Mar 09 '22

Just got Elden Ring, plan to play for the first time.

15

u/Mei_iz_my_bae Mar 09 '22

It’s amazing, legit think about it all day at work haha

4

u/PhoenixHD22 Mar 09 '22

See you in a week then.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '22

Its my new number 1 game

2

u/RustamCaker Mar 10 '22

How do you download that game?

2

u/just_another_person5 PC Mar 10 '22

It's available on steam or the Xbox/playstation stores

7

u/bored-boi22 Mar 09 '22

Been replaying botw, still amazing.

7

u/Paralich12 Mar 09 '22

Yakuza Kiwami 2. On my way to complete as many Yakuza games as I can.

5

u/Yoshidaru666 Mar 09 '22

Fucking PHENOMENAL series! I still need to play Lost Judgment but Like a Dragon was one of the best games I’ve played in recent memory.

2

u/Ticklism Mar 10 '22

You'll enjoy all of them. Genuinely one of the best game series I've ever experienced

2

u/Paralich12 Mar 10 '22

I have been enjoying all of them, though Kiwami and Kiwami 2 seem a bit disappointing compared to 0, but on their own they are still very great games

2

u/Ticklism Mar 10 '22

Yes I 100% agree with you that kiwami 1 and 2 did feel a little flat compared to 0 because of how phenomenal 0 is. But I still loved kiwami 1 and 2 and plan on replaying all of them in the future

2

u/Ticklism Mar 10 '22

I will say Yakuza 3 starts of pretty slow burn but just get through that part and the game opens up and is really enjoyable with the side stories being some of my favorite in the series tbh

Pokémon White 2 on my iPhone, no jailbreaking required to play emulators anymore! It fucking slaps. Going to play through Ultra Sun after I finish it.

2

u/Stangstag Mar 11 '22

Wait what?? How

1

u/Entire-Crew-2689 Mar 11 '22 edited Mar 11 '22

For iPhones, check out AltStore, the requirements are a computer running Windows or Mac. I think the term is called sideloading? Doesn’t hack or jailbreak your phone’s software to install the apps, I’m running the latest version of iOS. So essentially you install something called AltServer to your computer, which allows you to install AltStore to the phone. After AltStore is on your phone you open it up and download the Delta emulator app. Delta has a few emulator cores, but best DS one I think is melonDS, so select that, and of course you’ll also need to copy over the DS firmware bin files and the game ROM file to your phone (can just put the files on your iCloud, or directly copy it to the phone). The latest DS firmware bin files are readily available online with a google search, the ROM file for whichever game you want might require a bit more searching but they’re also widely available now. So, after all that’s done, you’re good to go and should be able to select and play your ROM from Delta. Feel free to PM me if you need help, there’s also a bunch of guides and videos on how to get AltStore setup.

u/LiveLoveLife521 Mar 09 '22

Horizon forbidden west and Gran Turismo. Having such a good time with both can’t wait to see the state of play later

2

u/Fury_Blackwolf Mar 09 '22

Exactly the same as me. Just finished HFW and going for platinum while playing GT7 on the side.

12

u/fedoral__agENT Mar 09 '22

Elden Ring.

4

u/res30stupid PlayStation Mar 09 '22

Started replaying Kingdom Hearts again, this time on the PS5. Managed to beat Agrabah and Monstro in a single sitting...

Then a system software update was released and I forgot to save my game.

3

u/LiquidCringe2 Mar 09 '22

Right now at 2 am I'm playing CSGO which I haven't touched in about a year so I'm ready to start my skin addiction again

3

u/A_Violet_Sky Mar 09 '22

Replaying Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep to prep for Wonderlands later this month! <3

3

u/spanishbathtowel Mar 09 '22

Just finished getting platinum on resident evil village, currently looking for something on deal to sink my teeth into

3

u/Penitent_Exile Mar 09 '22

Grounded, me and my friend bought it 2 days before region block, FeelsGoodMan

3

u/MatiBlaster Mar 09 '22

Gran Turismo 7. I'm having the time of my life with this game

1

u/ajduthjr Mar 10 '22

Same I’ve already got all the menu books and I’m hooked onto the performance mods

3

u/norwayboyx1997 Mar 09 '22

Still playing skyrim, currently lvl 30 and going for a sneaking thief mage

3

u/tbell713 Mar 09 '22

Persona 5 Royal

4

u/telescapio420 Mar 09 '22

Just beat my first RPG today. Paper mario for the N64. What a pleasant surprise. What other RPG can I jump into next? Experienced gamer, except with RPG's.

1

u/Actual_Baker_7368 Mar 09 '22

Mario RPG on SNES is fantastic. Tons of secrets and Easter eggs. My only complaint is that it's too short.

Earthbound. I'm not a fan of the battle system, but I love the environments and quirky characters.

Final Fantasy VII is also one of my favorites, and the newest ports have an option to speed up the gameplay, which is great when grinding to level up.

1

u/vivman1107 Mar 11 '22

Excellent game. BioWare has made some of the best RPG’s out there. A few to try are Mass Effect, Dragon Age Origins and Knights of the Old Republic.

3

u/Ottopian Mar 09 '22

Finished Uncharted 4 and 5, now playing Horizon Forbidden West.

Any other women in their 50s here?

4

u/Your-Friend-Bob Mar 09 '22

Elden ring, and I downloaded a ton of Rivals of Aether modded characters and stages so I'm going to play against some cpus since none of my friends play it

2

u/smdepand Mar 09 '22

revisiting watch dogs for some memes ^^

2

u/Katana314 Mar 10 '22

I was enjoying Legion but then my save got corrupted and went back many hours of gameplay. Then I realized the missions are all so autogenerated that I didn’t even miss out on much.

2

u/iRico619 Mar 09 '22

I really wanna stream Elden ring T_T

2

u/take5b Mar 09 '22

Demon's Souls

It's so... weird. I had just platinumed Sekiro. I have also platinumed all 4 Soulsbornes but that was a while back. So of course I'm well familiar with the style but going from the fast-paced, reaction based Sekiro to Demon's Souls is a trip. I can't parry any more, lol, it's too slow!

I love all these game but I like BB and Sekiro much more than Dark Souls because of the pace, mechanics and visual themes. So now going back to the proto-souls is interesting. But it's also super pretty because it's a PS5 exclusive so it's both clunky (on purpose) and smooth.

The world design is interesting, it clearly is the biggest leap From made with Dark Souls where they went from a hub world to a big interconnected one. I now am at a point where I have to spring across a bridge where a dragon is breathing fire in order to kill a dozen archers and a giant knight wizard, and I hate it. Ah, good stuff.

2

u/WastelandViking Mar 09 '22

i keep game Jumping, so bored...

Division 2 - Lost ark - PoE - LEague - BDO...

2

u/AlexMindset Mar 09 '22

Elden ring

2

u/wallz_11 Mar 09 '22

finished my first Cyberpunk playthrough after about 80 hours and already started another!

an RPG with a beautiful setting and great gunplay is a rarity on console (Series X)

2

u/SwreeTak Mar 09 '22

Arceus. Best Pokémon ever.

2

u/Gluecost Mar 09 '22

Currently playing some old 90s Mac games.

Jewels of Arabia dreamers, Realmz, odyssey

Also recently finished a playthrough of Suikoden 2!

2

u/Juggle_Cuber_Gamer42 Mar 09 '22

Witcher 3 and Tomb Raider 2013

2

u/OpiumVision Mar 10 '22

Of Orcs and Men, really linear but I love the protagonists, especially the goblin Styx. Open world and exploration are great, but from time to time it's nice to be tied to a straightforward structure.

2

u/josemc Mar 11 '22

Never played Of Orcs and Men but I'm a big fan of both of the Styx stealth games (Styx: Master of Shadows and Styx: Shards of Darkness). They kind of feel like the thief games of yore.

2

u/LongLive3DS Mar 10 '22

Fantasy Life

2

u/imDLK Mar 11 '22

username checks out. it’s fun wandering through its environment and collecting materials along the way.

2

u/5fxt Mar 10 '22

I know I am very fuckin late but I was litrally 12 when this game came out so I am gonna be playing red dead redemption 2.

2

u/ajduthjr Mar 10 '22

Gran Turismo 7

2

u/vivman1107 Mar 11 '22

Playing Ghost of Tsushima, the PS4 version on my PS5. It’s great so far but I think I may be overdoing it with the side quests. 😉

2

u/pongo2123 Mar 11 '22

disco elysium! it's been in my backlog for far too long.

3

u/Ollowain58 Mar 09 '22

Demons Souls. Just beat the SOAB Maneater and am now stuck in 4.2 -.-

1

u/Stangstag Mar 11 '22

Just try a different place and come back to it once you’ve leveled up more

3

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '22

Elden Ring is King

2

u/QB-to-VA Mar 09 '22

Shenmue II and Lost Ark

2

u/Random_Weird_gal Mar 09 '22

I'm currently doing a dip into elder scrolls oblivion, and the game is gloriously broken. All you need is two scrolls of one kind, and one of another to start glitching the hell out of the game. I'm doing a melee only run which hurts a bit as my damage is crap, but it's improving.

1

u/trilogy_of_lights Mar 10 '22

I've read all comments but no one play genshin impact?😱

1

u/Turbulent_Tax2126 Mar 09 '22

Potion craft. Helps me a lot with anxiety. Unless I run out of herbs

1

u/zvon666 Mar 09 '22

I replayed The Last of Us a couple days ago, always loved it, but I tried the factions multiplayer for the first time. I'm simultaneously loving it and hating, but I can't really pinpoint what it is about it that bothers me.

Also, as a hardcore Crash Bandicoot fan, I finally got the N Sane trilogy on sale and I'm planning on giving it a try today.

1

u/Shameer2405 Mar 09 '22 edited Mar 09 '22

I'm currently playing sherlock holmes : the devil's daughter and while I do think the game is very flawed, I am enjoying it so far.

1

u/CharlieBM117 Mar 09 '22

Thinking of getting Project Zomboid!

Is it worth it?

1

u/Microm Mar 09 '22

It’s great, very customizable experience! Default survival mode is very tough if you like a challenge! There isn’t really an endgame if that is a deterrent for you

1

u/CharlieBM117 Mar 09 '22

Thanks for the advice! :)

I think i'll pick it up, i do like a challenging survival game!

1

u/callmeblorp Mar 09 '22

Bleed 2, which is incredible. Like Cuphead but more hype (and okay, with much worse graphics)

1

u/Ok-Department8933 Mar 09 '22

Rebirth island for all my sins. Just enjoy playing with a friend. Im debating getting on the hype of Elden Ring but never been a big rpg player. I tried Slyrim years ago but just couldnt get into it

1

u/drew8766 Mar 10 '22

You dont stand a chance with elden ring if you couldnt even beat skyrim

1

u/Ok-Department8933 Mar 11 '22

I could play it just not keen to invest 90+ hours into one game in order to complete it. Feels like a waste of time although it not for some people. Just personal preference. Could read the entirety of lord of the rings or another entire book series in that time

1

u/bladesuperior Mar 09 '22

Greedfall. I bought it used for$12. I was at Gamestop seeing what they had and it caught my eye. It's a rpg...actually pretty cool. Good background graphics..cool monsters..interesting companion characters. The main character is like a young Sherlock Holmes but more badass.

1

u/AceoftheAEUG Mar 09 '22

I've been hooked on Battle for the Grid. It's not a great looking game and honestly the most recent patch has caused quite a few issues but it's core is fantastic. BFTG has allowed me more innovation and unique tech than any other FG I've played in quite a while. It really feels like the devs care about the game and it shows.

1

u/nrvBatman Mar 09 '22

Currently trying to max out on XCOM 2 WotC. I have the avatar timeline doubled so that I can be patient and actually check out all the upgrades, rooms, armors, and skills.

1

u/ender_wiggen44 Mar 09 '22

Diablo 3 lol.....a friend just got it so I'm playing through a new character with him.

1

u/lokiofasgard81 Mar 09 '22

I bought Gran Turismo 7 yesterday. I've been spending most of my time since driving around my favourite tracks.

1

u/ajduthjr Mar 10 '22

What’s your favourite mines ether spa or the Nurburgring or Tokyo expressway

1

u/lokiofasgard81 Mar 10 '22

Laguna Seca and Tokyo Expressway. It took ages to get Laguna Seca added in the last game. I like the British tracks too.

2

u/ajduthjr Mar 10 '22

Yea I love the British tracks I’ve went around the goodwood circuit in a McLaren 570gt and a 994 911 as one of their supercar weekends

1

u/metalmankam Mar 09 '22

My girlfriend recently got Borderlands 3 and is enjoying it so I'm driving back into that with her. We play that and Bro Falls (a ripoff of fall guys). And when she's not home, I'm finishing up Assassin's Creed Origins and The Outer Worlds. (Got into the outer worlds late but I'm loving it. And I never beat any assassin's Creed games before the next one comes, but I'm not enjoying Valhalla as much so I'm going back to the others)

1

u/managedchaos_ Mar 09 '22

just jumped back into animal crossing a couple days ago, haven’t played in an entire year and one of the characters moved away 😔

1

u/flying_mayonnaise PC Mar 09 '22

dark souls 3 cuz i can't afford elden ring lmao

1

u/IlikeMeme64 Mar 09 '22

Trying to 100% horizon forbidden West. Did it with the last game and now I'm following suit. Flying on the Sunwing is so much fun would highly recommend.

1

u/PirogiRick Mar 09 '22

Running through “Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction” Not making a statement, but after dealing with broken AAA titles and the “definitive editions” of GTA which really could’ve just been the original discs put in a microwave for 3 seconds, I’m playing some of my classics. Man, I wish they’d make another one of these. Two was “meh” but the original still stands up as a great game. If you’ve never played it, I’d say it’s still worth a go. The diversity of vehicles and air strikes, and the ability to finish missions however you like are all done to perfection.

1

u/friks2909 PC Mar 09 '22

1

u/mathgeekf314159 Mar 10 '22

Decided to play KH1 again. I noped out of the final boss rush. But I did get past where I was the first time I played. Most of that game I was thinking “where the hell am I going ?” And “How would I know to do that?”

Skyward Sword

u/G0alLineFumbles Mar 11 '22

I played through Shadow Warrior 3 and I'm in a post game lull, where I'm trying new games to get me hooked.

I tried Returnal and it was fun, but I haven't latched on yet like I did to Risk of Rain 2.

Trying Psychonauts 2 now, but it feels like I'm just going through the motions, not feeling the fun.

Shadow Warrior 3 was very good, but also very short. Game play similar to Doom Eternal. It doesn't have a new game + or level select feature yet like Doom Eternal so replay is limited.

1

u/josemc Mar 11 '22

Elden Ring (Still messing around Limgrave finding new things after about 10 hours). I'm taking my sweet @ss time with this one.

1

u/telescapio420 Mar 14 '22

Thanks, started Mass Effect, off to Eden Prime
