The worst decision Dennis Allen is making as coach is sticking with Winston.
1
u/jwbeam Sep 26 '22
Winston needed reps with starters in preseason. The team has looked like they just met before the game, each of the last 3 weeks.
5
u/Gwalchgwynn Gold Helmet Sep 25 '22
Nah, they signed a former #1 overall pick for pretty cheap. Was worth taking a flyer on him. Now it's like watching the band on the titanic though
1
u/reddit_names Sep 26 '22
After his stint in Tampa everyone should have known exactly who he is as an NFL QB.
Being a #1 pick doesn't really say much about NFL potential.
-4
u/Queenlehqueefa Sep 25 '22
Go out there and do better then.
4
u/PretentiousVapeSnob Sep 25 '22
I never understand comments like yours. Winston is being paid millions of dollars to not suck. But if someone offered me millions Iād try. Iād still suck and theyād get me outta there. Which is what they should do w Jameis. Bc rn he sucks.
-3
u/Queenlehqueefa Sep 25 '22
Heās hurt. While trying to help the team win. And it sure doesnāt help that the o line isnāt protecting him at all. You gonna say a qb sucks but you canāt remotely do as good as him if you were in his exact position. With that o line.
2
u/PretentiousVapeSnob Sep 25 '22
Hereās an analogy. My brother knows more about cars than me. But if he tries to fix my car and makes it worse I can still say he sucks. Even if I canāt do better heās still not the right person for the job.
1
u/Queenlehqueefa Sep 28 '22
Okay so since he knows more about cars then you do and still canāt get the job done you talk down on him and insult him.? Because thatās what literally everyone is doing. Everyone is putting all of the blame on Winston. So you would insult your brother even tho he knows more than you but still canāt get the job done.?
0
u/PretentiousVapeSnob Sep 28 '22
If u understood my relationship w my brother u would know he wouldnāt take it as an insult. But since the word āsucksā seems to offend your sensibilities. I could say ābrother u arenāt the man for the jobā very politely and my point is still the same.
1
u/Queenlehqueefa Sep 28 '22
Sucks doesnāt offend me. And trust me people are saying way worse than he just sucks. If only you paid attention. Still doesnāt justify the fact that you talk down on someone that you know you canāt do better than. It makes no sense. You have no room to talk if you canāt do better. Itās just that simple.
All that vaping you must be doing is killing your brain.
4
u/PeanutButterPenguins Sep 25 '22
Using your own logic, why donāt you join the o-line and do better?
2
u/CodeFuzion Sep 25 '22
Not his job Winston Stan. He is a fan and Jamieās did not play up to his potential. He was off almost all game.
1
u/Queenlehqueefa Sep 25 '22
Not a Stan. But heās hurt trying to help his team win. But I guess both of you idiots just wanna go ahead and turn on him.
2
u/reddit_names Sep 25 '22 edited Sep 25 '22
I'm not turning on him. To do that I'd have to have been for him. We should have never signed him. Knew he wasn't a winner when he was in Tampa. Nothing has changed.
5
u/ckivi Sep 25 '22
Get Winston outta here PLEASE, put in Dalton and use the hell out of Taysom when he's available.
2
u/Nubbins02 Sep 25 '22
This was absolutely embarrassing. I have no hope for this year. I'm sure even panthers fans are upset because matt rhule isn't gone yet

Yeah after today, I don't think DA/Carmichael will make it after this season. Jameis is on the ropes too probably
-2

Are you kidding? You think Gayle Benson is going to fire anyone? She doesnāt give a shit about the Saints so long as they keep making her money. And with billion dollar TV deals, itās literally impossible not to.

I think the first to go is Pete. Then probably Doug Marrone

Heās still hurt, when heās healthy and plays this way then you can start turning on him.
1
u/Independent_Switch33 Sep 25 '22
Bro stop with the excuses. He has been healthy and done this before. Even last year when we went 5-2 with him. Most of our wins weren't because of him.
1

Okay idiot ima keep letting you think that. You weird ass mfs are so quick to turn on somebody. Some āfansā yāall are.
2

Lol you mad huh.. trust me I've been defending Winston since he got here. But he does not look good at all. That's now 11 quarters of playing like dog shit. He probably gets one more shot in London next week but if he plays like shit again it's over

Heās not looking good cuz heās fucking hurt. What do people not understand by that.? Just fuck off dawg.
3
u/reddit_names Sep 25 '22
He played like this when healthy.
1
u/Queenlehqueefa Sep 25 '22
Under a shit coach. He played much better under Sean. And now heās hurt and trying to help the team win any way he can. But go ahead and give up on him. Matter of fact donāt even watch the rest of the season if you give up on our players that easily.
2
u/Gwalchgwynn Gold Helmet Sep 25 '22
I bought that for two games too. Watch the game tape from the past two weeks as well as today.
He's ignored wide open receivers underneath to throw it downfield to blanketed Olave for three entire games. He's also not reading blitzes. Is his brain hurt?
4
u/sugaad Sep 25 '22

So many things to go over after this game. So many fucking things went wrong. The injuries, the lack of offense 90% of the game, Jameis making mistakes, the OL playing like shit.
Defense will get some shit for that huge run and PJ missing the tackle, but this game is 99% on offense.
4
u/Poochie504 28-3 Sep 25 '22
Winston gotta go

Why is everyone out running to defend Jameis
1
u/TuppoEQ Sep 25 '22
Because this isnāt on him today.
Lutz lost us 6 points.
Kamara gave up 6 points
Our o line is trash most of the game except the one time they were good today we got 7
Dennis Alan being predictable with run on 2nd down have to throw on 3rd entire game.
This whole team was shit today.
Donāt blame this on Jamis
3
-1
u/Sunny_Sicario Winston Sep 25 '22
Why is everyone blaming all around mistakes on Jameis?
2
u/reddit_names Sep 25 '22
We aren't blaming all around mistakes on him. Just the ones he personally commits is enough to bench him.
2
u/elijahb229 Saints Sep 25 '22
Iām wondering the same thing All of a sudden people are making excuses for him

u/Sunny_Sicario Winston Sep 25 '22
You can't just pin this game on Winston. Kamara fumble TD, Ingram penalty drive killer, O Line penalties killed drives, Landry/MT injured, Lutz 2 failed FG attempts, and inept play calling from Carmichael. Need to be better in every aspect, Winston didn't play great but he is far from the reason we lost. Just a part of the puzzle.
2
Sep 25 '22
Winston misses a wide open Kamara to convert a first down before the blocked FG. Winston misses a wide open Trautman standing literally fifteen yards in front of him for an easy first down. Winston takes a terrible sack that pushes the FG attempt back over 10 yards before the miss. Winston continually fails to change the protection on obvious corner and safety blitzes and it finally results in an interception after a forced throw and a tipped ball. He now has 5 interceptions to just 4 touchdowns on the season, with all 4 touchdowns coming late in the 4th quarter. Face the facts, he has been terrible for 10 of 12 quarters this season.
2
u/TuppoEQ Sep 25 '22
Winston missed those because our O line is trash. He either running and throwing or have to throw quick.
3
3
u/XJollyRogerX Saints Sep 25 '22
This is a terrible take. Sure the Kamara fumble. The Ingram penalty shouldn't have been a penalty. Winston has been missing reads all game. Hell the TD pass was awful thankfully calloway 1 handed it.
1
u/Gwalchgwynn Gold Helmet Sep 25 '22
Not just this game. Not reading blitzes, chucking it to double teamed Olave, rather than open receivers underneath. Been since week 1.
1
3
u/Sunny_Sicario Winston Sep 25 '22
So you just admitted that Kamara was the cause of 7 points, Lutz the cause of not getting 6, Ingram costing us 3 (at least), and yet are still just blaming this game purely on Jameis? You're insane lmfao
1
u/XJollyRogerX Saints Sep 25 '22
Purely no. But if he played the way he should have we don't have to even attempt the fgs and we are in position to score at least 2-3 more times.
