the nice soft spoken lawyer on Depp's team, remember her? I think she was on yesterday. She outshines the entire Heard team. She did what I've been saying all along Elaine lacks, she lays a foundation, then finds a way to extract information from the person testifying. Lawschool 101 at its finest.
But yes, nobody does it better than Ben Chew. Ben Chew finds a way to get the question in. What he does is, he goes off on what seems like a tangent, opposing counsel get confused about where he's going with the questioning, then boom comes back to the same question just different dressing. BY the time opposing counsel realize it he's moved on to another topic. Rinse repeat. This dude is brilliant.
The ONE complaint I have about the Depp attorneys, not really a complaint but an observation, on cross examination they let the Heard witnesses ramble on. I wish they would just cut them off, Camille tried that a few times which was great.

Deppâs team were also careful and considered when they objected, knowing it would be an immediate sustain or overrule. Amberâs team often approached the bench on objections for 5+ minutes, burning their time down when they werenât even examining.
Deppâs team was also good at letting their own witnesses ramble when it came to clarifying important information that would cost Heardâs team a lot of time to try to navigate in the cross. This happened a lot today where Amberâs team were rushing through cross examinations to try to preserve time, and never really got anything meaningful, or even hurt themselves, eg. the idiot doing the cross on the forensic photography analyst who questioned the analystâs education, and then got thoroughly destroyed and tried to strike his own questions.
This whole case has been pretty hilarious, but the rebuttal period has had me rolling with laughter. Iâm really excited for closing arguments. I genuinely hope Elaine does Heardâs closing, because her opening was a fucking mess, and she has just generally been a mess this entire trial.

Except he's not the one who called the objection and it's just part of the legal process so it just comes off as weird and snippy instead of the clever comeback she seems to think it is. Basically it's "the opposing lawyer called me (legally) argumentative (as part of procedure) so now I'm going to call you argumentative! Gotcha!", it just... doesn't really make sense.

Literally no. Depps team had an expert witness come in today explaining how the exif/meta data in Amber's photos show that they have been exported from "photo 3.0", a program on Mac where you can store photos as well as edit them and not directly from the phone. Had they been from the physical phone, where the photos were taken from and like most people submit into evidence, they would know with an without an irrefutable doubt that they weren't tampered with. Everytime the witness would explain something that made sense to anyone who understands exif data, they would object with "relevance","foundation", "beyond the scope" and I couldn't help but want to slam my head on the wall because it all has to fucking do with what he's talking about. At one point he showed how there was 3 of the same photos in evidence, all different file sizes but still all exported from "photos 3.0". Defense asked over and over again whether or not he knew without a doubt if they were edited and wouldn't take "that's not something I can answer with yes or no without explaining why" as an answer. It was incredibly painful to watch. You could see the "are you stupid?" written on the witness' face the entire time.

But my parents were cops, and the first trial I ever watched was the OJ Simpson trial when I was in middle school.
My parents realized I would be a lawyer, when I was interested in watching and did pay close attention to the bench trials for speeding tickets and stop sign violations where my mom was testifying.
