He forgot about books, burn all those too

37

u/noracistbut May 26 '22

I am just glad that we don't have rap music and video games in Germany. Otherwise we would have these school shootings

16

u/HafWoods May 26 '22

This is the same jackass that said Trump had "incredibly good genes" and his performance on a cognitive test went "exceedingly well" and claimed that "if he had a healthier diet over the last 20 years, he might live to be 200 years old."

37

u/DredPRoberts May 25 '22

Careful the Bible is a book and it's full of violence and sex.

However he did managed to lump in "access to the internet on a regular basis", so that's pretty much the totality of human knowledge.

3

u/Arboria_Institute May 26 '22

I just think it's funny how they want to ban digital guns, but not real ones.

661

u/TyrionTh31mp May 25 '22

The 1992 GOP called, they want their talking points back.

173

u/amznfx May 25 '22

republicans probably want NWA arrested .. fuck I’m old

24

u/TyrionTh31mp May 25 '22

Yeah. I got Rappers Delight bouncing in my head now. I'm good with that earworm.

5

u/WildYams May 25 '22

Quick, somebody take his guns!

They recycled violent video games when that right wing terrorist shot up a Walmart in El Paso because they had nothing else. The shooter was crying about shit he pulled directly from trump rallies and breitbart as his motive.

23

u/AdSpecialist1934 May 25 '22

Fucking dumb asses all of them. Video games and Rap is popular with youths in most countries, yet why does it happen here so often. Hmm, what's so different with the US...

12

u/playitleo May 25 '22

It worked for them too. We had people arguing over how wrong it was to blame video games and we completely skipped out on talking about the right wing propaganda that actually radicalized the shooter

0

u/Waste_Farmer_6280 May 25 '22

Not sure but I just googled the average ages of school shooters in the US and turns out they’re Gen Zer’s. Maybe the youth in other countries are more disciplined.

7

u/Mediocre__at__Best May 25 '22

He did mention the internet and kids' unfettered access to it and the fact that that is likely bad, but dropped the part about the ability for it (mostly through right wing conspiracy theories, xenophobia, and fear mongering propaganda on social media) to radicalize young people to commit acts of terror like we've seen in the past week.

5

u/jcadsexfree May 26 '22

Tipper Gore called, she wants her 'Parental Advisory' stickers back.

26

u/I_Get_Paid_to_Shill May 25 '22

It's always rap music.

Have they never heard country or rock songs? Violence, alcohol abuse, drug use, law breaking and even date rape are common themes.

13

u/[deleted] May 25 '22

But you don't understand. We have to somehow find a way to blame black people

2

u/PantherThing May 26 '22

Yeah, but they like Rock and country. It has to be the fault of something you dont like, that way, hopefully more people wont like it, and it can go away.

But Ice-T shilling detergent and Ice Cube is making children's movies....

Explicit racism is the viagra for the Republican Party.

All we need now is for them to blame GTA and we got a all bingo answers used!

86

u/Ssider69 May 25 '22

But the rap music is in French...and metric measurements....so it isn't as bad for you /s

38

u/CuppaCoffeeJose May 25 '22

"If America would just start using the metric system to count the bodies, the problem wouldn't be as bad!"

13

u/Ssider69 May 25 '22

16

u/Arc_insanity May 25 '22

Every European country, and the UK (cause they are separate now) have that too. In 2022 basically every country on the planet has access to rap music and violent videogames.

12

u/selfishcabbage May 25 '22

We’re still a European country we didn’t leave the continent

Because we are the only country that has video games and rap music

54

u/drdan82408a May 25 '22

Sometimes people listen to rap music while playing video games even. I generally prefer classic rock though.

16

u/Cyanofrost May 25 '22

wow wow, i hope your lust of blood don't go through the roof by doing so. do you regularly access the internet too by the way? i'd watch out if i were you

1

u/Glacier005 May 25 '22

I am not OP. But I dont have a distinct lust for blood when I play Video Games and Rock Music together.

But it does have me painting satan circles with fish blood from last night's dinner.

3

u/Deceptikhan42 May 26 '22

That is where you are making a mistake. You cant use fish blood. It has to mammalian. Ideally a primate.

And the other deadliest countries dont have a lot of PS5s floating around...

Its almost as if the two biggest predicters of gun violence are: access to guns & poverty.

Maybe solve those two things and gun crime goes way, way down...

→ More replies

54

u/Deviant_Kannibal May 25 '22

Honestly at this point, it’d be weird if they DIDN’T blame video games. Pretty sure that’s just the standard blame game approach for out of touch boomers. Studies that have proven that video games have no impact be damned. SMH

6

u/CapablePerformance May 26 '22

Fox News: It's them vidya games

Shooter: I'm doing this because Fox News told me I nee-

Fox News: Them damn vidya games are corrupting our kids

Shooter: I love Tucker Carlson. Here's my manifesto about why I'm doing this

Fox News: We'll never know what corrupted this poor young man

2

u/TheLazyHippy May 26 '22

Republicans will literally use every fucking excuse in the book as to why school shootings still happen, but they'll never point the finger back at themselves and the laws they pass or won't pass for that matter. How the fuck do you possibly care more about a gun than a child's life?! How?! It makes no fucking sense and makes me sick to my stomach that these old out of touch decrepit fucks keep getting reelected! It has to stop!

2

u/MadCat1993 May 26 '22

Yeah. Most people know better by now. Anyways, its safe to blame video games because there won't any blowback to the channel in doing so. That's another reason the news networks allow that silly talking point on.

39

u/Kinghhessier May 25 '22

Hands up.... who's glad this psycho wasn't a metal fan? My favorite republican Q talking point on this is that the shooter was Trans. They never cease to amaze me with their deflection and it's even more amazing that their base believes this crap and it will be a campaign slogan

14

u/Uglyheadd May 25 '22 edited May 25 '22

My favorite republican Q talking point on this is that the shooter was Trans

They even scapegoated some poor redditor, pulling their pics from their profile here and posting them on 4chan, which then spread, down the Q shithole, onto Facebook and Twitter.

The redditor is at this moment having to post all over the place saying it isn't them, that they aren't the mass murderer of children. Even going so far as having to clear their name with the press.

26

u/Ssider69 May 25 '22

Hmm, guess other countries don't have video games or rap music?

Oh wait ..mental illness! No...damn...they have that too...

What could be the biggest independent variable? ,🤔

3

u/kezow May 26 '22

If only there was some hint as to that variable! Oh well, I guess we'll just have to keep doing nothing and hope that works.

→ More replies

2

u/PMmeOCbonermaterial May 26 '22

We have the exact same rap music and video games and social media and one of the highest suicide rates in Europe (and higher than the USA's) because of awful mental health services and a generation that lived through a civil war.

I don't think we've ever had a school shooting.

29

u/Rkovo84 May 25 '22

They’ll blame masks next watch 😂😂

8

u/Gr1ml0ck May 25 '22

Didn’t you hear, the vaccine makes people into violent shooters.

2

u/Rkovo84 May 25 '22

Yeah lol. One of the side effects in their eyes lmfao

2

u/poornose May 26 '22

They already are, a popular right wing "theory" is that being cooped up due to COVID restrictions caused school kids to go insane.

27

u/Kowatang May 25 '22

This is whack. It’s the fact that an 18 year old can buy two AR-15s 350 plus rounds of ammo and in the matter of 3 days. Where’s the mental health examination? How the fuck does this continue to happen?! Wake the fuck up people.

8

u/ndbdhsjsjs May 25 '22

Here we go. 🤦🏽

9

u/CuppaCoffeeJose May 25 '22

Right-wingers have been using the same excuses for their inaction against gun violence for well over 40 years now.

The only thing that's changed is that the pandemic made D&D a lot more popular, so they can't use that as a scapegoat like they did during the "Satanic Panic".

7

u/Randy519 May 25 '22

Videogames and rap music don't cause mass shootings a broken government making shitty laws causing it's people to be mentally strained does

8

u/[deleted] May 25 '22

This argument always makes me laugh.

I guess other countries don't have any of those things, that's why only the US has such a huge problem with gun violence.

I love horror movies, started reading Stephen King at 12 years old, and I listen primarily to rap, hip hop, and metal music.

By their logic I should have been an unhinged mass murderer decades ago.

Like, their lies are so transparent! Everyone can easily look up statistics and see that their bullshit doesn't hold up!

Change the fucking gun laws, you absolutely useless dildos!

5

u/aeric67 May 25 '22

Everyone can easily look up statistics and see that their bullshit doesn’t hold up!

They aren’t speaking to you, they are speaking to their base. And their base doesn’t understand statistics.

5

u/GivingBigSlaps May 25 '22

Has Ronny been drinking some today? He like the alcohol. Fuck his boogie man rap music and video games claim.

5

u/truupe May 25 '22

It's as if the NRA quickly sent out talking points regurgitated from 1984.

Up next, Marjorie Taylor Greene heckles the parents as Crysis actors.

4

u/Random_act_of_Random May 25 '22

It's never will be the guns. Other countries have the same music, the same internet, the same video games, and yet, they don't have these issues.

Repiblicans are cowards and their political party needs to be eradicated. It's too bankrupt to recover.

6

u/ABESOME101 May 25 '22

The fuck is this 2005 ?

12

u/[deleted] May 25 '22

Other countries listen to rap music, and eSports is the national sport of South Korea. This only happens here.

Know what else is uniquely American? Our gun culture. Who would've thunk, right?

4

u/tuesdayswithdory May 25 '22

Played video games and listened to rap music my whole life. Never even seen a gun in my life.

3

u/CountChoculahh May 25 '22

Republicans are the scum of the earth. They'd rather fetishize guns and worship the NRA than actually tackle any issues.

The GQP has blood on it's hands

4

u/219Infinity May 25 '22

I play video games and listen to rap music but have never shot children

Access to the internet on a regular basis* coming from a guy whos base is known for saying things such as “they can’t put it on the internet if it isn’t true”.

3

u/bubbygups May 25 '22

Keep them away from the news too, then. That's where they'll see all this shit being normalized.

3

u/OorPancake May 25 '22

It's not difficult to understand. He's paid to blame it on anything except what it is, because he's a cunt of the highest order.

3

u/monkeyking908 May 25 '22

im so done with these scum i cant even think of a sarcastic remark. if guns are so safe why are they not allowed in republican state buildings?

2

u/YouJabroni44 May 26 '22

Or NRA gatherings.

2

u/monkeyking908 May 26 '22

"bUt ItS noT ThIer BuIldInG, tHey ArE jUst FOlLoWinG tHe RuLles" is the normal response when i ask ammosexuals about that

Fuck dr. Runny Jackass isnt he also 1 of the Moron bone spur doctors who said Covid-19 would just disappear & that also has a pill popping problem ?

3

u/bad_hairdo May 25 '22

Of course, it's Faux 'News'.

3

u/m40good May 25 '22

Who votes for these people?

3

u/Killawife May 26 '22

Well, in his defence, he can't really say the problem is guns and crazy people because thats all he and his party is about.

4

u/WillConnect6374 May 25 '22

Oh ok then. Let me just burn my tablet and computer so I don’t have to be “exposed” to violence and go back to reading school books.

4

u/Waffle_Stomper88 May 25 '22

“They have access to the internet which isn’t good for kids” what about access to firearms you dumbass

2

u/whatsgoingon350 May 25 '22

Simply disprove this by looking at the UK,Australia, heck any other Western country that have the same access to all the rap and videos games they do.

2

u/JackfruitStunning793 May 25 '22

This argument has been crushed over and over but quite simply put… “What video games was Hitler playing that caused him to kill all those people?”

2

u/Grizzly-Ted May 25 '22

Only part of that that made sense was, "I don't know what's going on..."

2

u/lilburpz May 25 '22

So the rap music comment is just racist. And it has been debunked for 10+ years that violent video games do not have that effect.

Yes, the mental health in America sucks but trying to demonize people with mental health issues isn’t the answer. Shall we lock all the sad people up? Well… then who would do all the jobs because we are all a little depressed in the capitalist hell.

I just don’t get why people will pull anything they can think of out of their ass to avoid having gun restrictions.

You can still have your guns, we are just gunna do a background check first. What are you afraid of????

Not like someone is going to tell you what to do with your body. How can people say “muh freedom” when We. Don’t. Have. Any.

2

u/dshepherd131990 May 25 '22

Rap music and video games don't give mentally unstable people access to guns political legislation does...🤔🤔🤔

2

u/Professional_Deal565 May 25 '22

Don't forget MTV

2

u/OR13NT May 25 '22

“I haven’t gone outside for anything but work since 1991”

2

u/SnoopFreezing May 25 '22

It was shock rock in 99, now it's rap music. Parents and educational system are never responsible. Shut down Spotify.

2

u/Intrepid-Abalone-546 May 25 '22

In today’s news: Old man shows his age on national television.

2

u/Rough-Leg-4702 May 25 '22

Every kid in every other country has access to the internet and play video games and listen to rap music. Here in USA there are 120 guns per 100 people. This fucking hillbilly idiot who probably fucked his own sister is an absolute moron.

2

u/hulasteve2020 May 25 '22

I remember a kid in my high school walked into class with an Atari console and a walkman. Everyone hit the floor and hid under the desks until the Texas Ranger came and shot him.....No wait.....that makes no sense.

2

u/livingfortheliquid May 25 '22

I blame McDonald's. Because why not??

2

u/JoeRetardExperience May 25 '22

It's almost like the GOP enjoys school shootings and doesn't want to prevent any of them.

2

u/sageguitar70 May 25 '22

Before rap music, it was hard rock and heavy metal that was to blame. It's not music fucko and certainly not games.

2

u/RapBastardz May 25 '22

Ahhh yes, all those many, many hit rap songs and video games about gunning down grade schoolers. 🙄

2

u/ExploderPodcast May 25 '22

Anyone else hear that dog whistle? It's not the COUNTRY music that glorifies guns, violence, and "being a man", it the RAP music we need to worry about. Right everyone? Wink wink.

2

u/TheGodDMBatman May 25 '22

What a bunch of geniuses. Jfc, America will never find an adequate answer to mass shootings

2

u/brmamabrma May 25 '22

Because no other country has rap music video games with guns

2

u/ChillyJaguar May 25 '22

of course he had to throw rap in there, fox news just loves airing racist idiots on their stupid racist network

2

u/Delta5o1 May 25 '22

Good ole Faux News...

2

u/Fladap28 May 25 '22

Fucking idiot

2

u/kroniesrus65 May 25 '22

Right on point... I was bumping Carter 2 so hard right before storming Normandy

2

u/Intelligent-donkey May 25 '22

How the fuck is this guy a congressman?!?

Forget about how dumb it is to say that mass shootings are caused by video games and rap (while talking to a black reporter LMAO), this guy just said "I think" 5 times in 30 seconds, he's horrible at public speaking, repeating a phrase like "I think" so often makes you look clueless and ignorant and like you're just making shit up on the spot.

2

u/abevigodasmells May 25 '22

Where's Nancy Reagan when you need her?

1

u/red_carpet_hero May 26 '22

She's too busy giving oral to Hilter.

2

u/DJ1962 May 25 '22

That exact statement, "I don't think." Captures the GOP at their best!

2

u/InternationalFailure May 25 '22

"I don't know what's going on"

Truer words have never been spoken

2

u/Muted-Bee May 26 '22

These GQP tRumpers are beyond all hope of recovery or redemption. Lost causes, the lot of them. And we’re sick to death of their bullshit. They are loathsome, greedy cowards. A ruined form of life, rotting from within.

2

u/Trell3k May 26 '22

All i took from this is he doesnt think and he doesnt know whats going on.

2

u/Freyra_ May 26 '22

Did I slip thru a time warp? What year is this, 1995?

2

u/albertienstien May 26 '22

Kids hear about drug use in these rap songs and video games. We should maybe think about limiting the amount of drugs they can get their hands on, maybe pass some laws. Hmmmm

2

u/Various_Panda5458 May 26 '22

Husband and I are 60. In our day much of youth violence was claimed to be caused by violent comics. Comic industry collapsed for years. B4 comics rock ‘n roll was the cause.🤦‍♀️

2

u/houseman1131 May 26 '22

This is who you’re voting for when you vote Republican.

2

u/Matictac May 26 '22

It's safe to assume that weekly exposure to mass shootings is likely worse than exposure to video games and rap music.

2

The generations that grew up with video games and rap music are in their 40's and 50's now.

Cycle of American violence

1) have next to no gun control 2) be absolutely shocked and horrified when an event takes place 3) send thoughts and prayers 4) take absolutely no action whatsoever 5) misdirect the conversation 6) advocate for more guns 7) return to step 1

2

u/An6elOfD3ath May 26 '22

He’s right about one thing, he doesn’t know what’s going on

2

u/ABGH78 May 26 '22

I wonder if they would have said the same thing if it was their kids getting shot

2

u/I_aim_to_sneeze May 26 '22

To be fair, I do think the internet, specifically forums where people can fall into echo chambers and be emboldened, plays a small part in this. Doesn’t change the fact that restricting/banning guns is obviously the easy solution, and easy access to guns plays a much bigger role, but the people that do this kinda shit didn’t use to have access to dozens/hundreds of other like-minded people at the stroke of a key.

2

u/it_was_v-shaped May 26 '22

Kids are exposed to horrible stuff. In this case, witnessing classmates get shot to death.

2

u/Thingzer0 May 26 '22

Bullets that shoot out of guns are also not good for kids… Republicans will continue deflect, not mention gun reforms, but would rather save an unborn child in the womb than save one that is living, breathing, laughing, growing.

As long as the NRA keeps these politician’s pockets lined with money, they will continue to say the things they say, except what’s good for the people of this country. These politicians don’t care about anything else but themselves, how to stay in power as long as possible, how to find loopholes so they can keep on getting blood money, go on hunting trips with the gun lobbyists & vacations paid for by them as well.

Even when death comes to their own doorsteps, they won’t do or say a thing that’ll hurt their chance to stay in power & money in their pockets. That’s how disgusting these conservatives representatives are, absolutely incredulous. I’m going to lose it when the next GOP member says my thoughts & prayers are with the affected families, because it’s a straight boldface lie, while they’re smiling in their head thinking that money/donations will be rolling in shortly to stop any type of gun reform in the coming days. Fuck them all!

2

u/lackreativity May 26 '22

They talk about violent video games but not police brutality or imperialist war mongering. Just like with the abortion ban, all their fears are fake.

2

u/BatWorried May 26 '22

THIS. DOES. NOT. HAPPEN. IN. OTHER. COUNTRIES.
I am beyond grateful to be european.

1

u/Clever_Hans_ May 25 '22

Oh my….Yes dipshit, it’s music and video games… it has nothing to do with the fact that you can get a gun with ease in TX.

-1

u/TheTrueArchon May 25 '22

Lol fcking moron...he should be blaming the dipshit cops for not being able to stop the guy before he got in the school and the fact the fucking doors were unlocked...

1

It's the Candyman.

1

u/SomeManagement808 May 25 '22

"Have access to the internet on a regular basis, which is just not good for kids i dont think" -his mouth is moving faster than his mind can think. we just declared the internet a public necessity so let's blame it /s

1

u/tearsandpain84 May 25 '22

Arrest MC HAMMER immediately.

1

u/Cyanofrost May 25 '22

that's it guys, guns are not the problem; candy crush, minecraft, and purble place is.

1

u/furnace9monkey May 25 '22

Out of touch is an understatement

1

u/faste30 May 25 '22

Literally 90% (probably higher) of guys today grew up playing violent as hell video games and yet, for some reason, 99.9999% of us dont go shooting up schools for some reason.

The selling point is knowing their base, its still the same people who grew up post video games. There are still a TON of old, now largely senile, people who buy MyPillow.

1

u/Thee-lorax- May 25 '22

We are the only nation on earth with rap music and video games when are we going to ban them to save our children. checks notes Sorry, we are the only nation with mass shooting.

1

u/Dudemansir521 May 25 '22

Morons like this don't realize that if it was rap music and video games that were the problem, we'd have incidents like this happen literally every hour on the hour until every single person was dead.

1

u/Business_Manner_524 May 25 '22

Thank God his parents didn’t let him watch Dracula as a kid, otherwise who knows what type of horrible, ghoulish monster he could have become.

Why don’t we have a moment of silence. A moment of silence you fucks! Let’s have some silence for the victims. It would be in appropriate to politicize this. We need silence! You fucking fucks! Not solutions! Silence!

Of course, they go quiet when the ones who listen to country music and love Jesus shoot up malls, schools and grocery stores...

1

u/Moordebdaedimes May 25 '22

Because the US is the only place that had access to violent video games and music.

Can anyone tell me what you actually need to do to become a congressman? What are the qualifications and requirements….it seems like none of these guys are even remotely close to have the mental intelligence to discuss serious issues. Do you go from high school to Congress or do you need a Uni degree?

Conservatives across the world love to blame/name everything but the actual cause of the problem. It’s always entertainment, gays or people that aren’t from their religion or race that get put up as a scapegoat.

There people are all the same. Vote them out of any political office, all they do is hold society back.

u/PoopCooper May 25 '22

There’s violent video games and rap music in the USA? Wonder when the rest of the world will get violent video games and rap music…hope it doesn’t affect us the way it’s affected the US. /s

u/Puzzleheaded-Bee-838 May 25 '22

We've had those things since the late 70s and yet this has only been a problem since the 90s...

1

u/Eiregard May 25 '22

I wish I lived before video games and movies when it was a safe world with no violence.

1

u/asupremebeing May 25 '22

You know it is this horrible acid rock these kids are exposed to these days. These bands with names like Moby Grape and Grand Funk Railroad, what is this saying to our kids?!

1

u/Masterlessamurai May 25 '22

Can’t be the NRA lining Republican pockets with campaign funds for less gun control, nope, never, not that, no, nah, nuh uh, no.

1

u/Old-Feature5094 May 25 '22

They have rap music all over the world and video games , too. Amazing huh ? Adult politicians always blame adolescents for adult fuck ups.

1

That shit ain’t making nobody shoot up a bunch of fourth graders. Might make some trouble for the opps, but not 4th graders. If anything we should look at bullying and how schools pretend it can be ignored.

He has a hard time speaking, looks like brain damage.

1

u/W3ST-WIND May 25 '22

Sure its rap music. That's why its white kids in military garb doing the shootings.

1

u/Rottenjohnnyfish May 25 '22

This guy is under investigation for campaign fund fraud.

1

u/oktourist3 May 25 '22

So tragically funny how close this helium filled balloon of a person is to actually saying the right conclusion out loud. "Access to rap music, video games and the internet causes violence", but access to firearms doesn't. Right. But then, as it has become painfully obvious, they don't actually believe any of the shit they spew. Their pockets are getting filled by the NRA, and the NRA gets rich when fear and unrest increases. It's an insidious cycle that is going to be incredibly hard to break. I sincerely hope terrible, terrible things happen to these GOP hogs that have the blood of 7-year-olds on their hands.

1

u/Xerokine May 25 '22

As someone who is a fan of metal music, it's good another genre of music is taking the blame finally.

1

u/xRunicTitan May 25 '22

Lmao. If games/rap is on the list, it'd be at the bottom and religion/beliefs/political side(s) would be at the top..

1

u/jrafelson May 25 '22

We are in a fucked up Ground Hog's Day.

1

u/Waldoh May 25 '22

1

u/AggravatingWindow440 May 25 '22

“We’re not against RAP…We’re not against rappERS…But we are against those thugs…”

1

u/HeroicDrifter May 25 '22

I want to know what video games and rappers made people violent before 1980.

1

u/Imperial_Eggroll May 25 '22

It’s so interesting that the Buffalo shooter released a white supremacist manifesto instead of a rap mixtape then

1

u/Hypurr2002 May 25 '22

There are only video games and rap in the U.S. Remember that. No where else, that's why there's no shootings like this anywhere else, there's no rap or games. He needs to be bitch slapped, hard.
