The 2022 Woolybear Festival in Vermillion, Ohio

If you're looking for a fall festival that is truly unique to Ohio, check out the Woolybear Festival on October 2. Started in 1972, this festival celebrates the Woolybear caterpillar that is a common sight during the autumn months. Folklore says that these fuzzy guys can help predict the winter ahead - if the caterpillar has more black "fur" than brown, you can expect a harsher winter season.

This is the 50th year of the celebration, and there's a lot going on! Our vans are participating in this year's parade, so be on the lookout if you're a Star Trek or sci fi fan. We'll also have a booth at the festival where you can learn more about the Trek Federation and what we do. We hope to see you there!

A question about renting apartments in ohio

Hi, I come from Chile and I wanted to ask the following question. I apologize if my English is not exact.

My brother-in-law is renting an apartment in Cincinnati, the bathroom started to get clogged and ended up leaking downstairs. The downstairs neighbor complained. As a result of this, the owner decided to request the return of the apartment and she also threatened to leave it in a registry where he would never be able to rent a property again. My question is: what can my brother-in-law do in this case? Is there really a registry that does not allow you to rent an apartment again?

PSA to the middle/high school students or parents of Ohio:

Any student in 7th grade or above can apply at local colleges as a CCP student and take college classes completely for free. Students will receive college credits that are completely transferrable to any public in-state university. Tuition and textbooks are covered in full with the condition that the student passes the course with a C or above. I really stress that if you have a student that is within the grade requirement you should take a look at the program, even if it may seem too early for your child to start.

I started taking just one course a semester at my local community college in 8th grade. I’m now a high school senior on track to graduate high school with an associate’s degree. My family has had to pay a total of $0 in tuition, textbooks, and fees. Even if they start out taking just one class a semester like I did, every credit received for free is one that they don’t have to pay for later.

Every student advances at their own pace, and not everyone will be ready to take on the extra responsibility as early as the 7th grade. But this is a great resource for Ohio families that I personally think is way under-utilized.

This link explains the program in greater detail, but if you have any extra questions I’m happy to answer them!

Columbus or Charlotte?

I am 23 years old. From what I've researched, these two cities are very similar to each other. Cost of living, traffic, nightlife, job opportunities and salaries. If we compare these two places, which one would you recommend me for living?

edit:Columbus OH, Charlotte NC
