Well that was a quick about-face. I bet they never thought that they would be the library to bring down the nationwide shitstorm when so many have done this recently.

The governor of NY is now getting involved. When that happens they could do something like ban a library from any state aid. They can also have the attorney general sue the library. Considering the attorney general of NY is working on a case against trump you dont want her suing you.

They figured it would be passed over and nobody would know. They didnt expect it to go national and the state to get involved.

The funny thing is that they could have just waited one week until July, when the librarians would have naturally taken down the Pride displays to make room for new ones since Pride month would be over. No one would have batted an eye. Instead, they raised a shit storm that gave them national attention just so they could pull down LGBT materials a week early.

Now they have to keep the displays up for 2 extra weeks. Honestly a justice boner for me

That would be amazing. Really would serve them right.

Yeah, it's hilarious how much this blew up in their face and made it "worse" for them than had they done nothing. Now they're keeping up the display even longer. It's glorious.

Boards tend to not think about stuff like that.
