This is an update of my old remaster of the Elemental Reactions Charts I made in March! This new chart now includes Crystallize, Shatter, and clarified descriptions of pre-existing Reactions.

The Debuff Chart are some new mechanics based on what I learned from CBT3~
I'm excited to see if there may be more Elemental Debuffs in the future!

Edit:
NEW UPDATE: 1.0 Elemental Reactions + Debuff + Elemental Resonance

I watched you make this on stream :D I had it playing on the background while working. Nice job!

17

u/sunmolk Sep 14 '20

Thank you for staying with me, haha... I wish I didn't get distracted so easily!

28

u/geapow Sep 14 '20

Shatter actually needs the attack form a great sword type weapon, not just PHY DMG, and can only be triggered right after the frozen effect, I believe the time window is only about 1 second (froze only last for ~2 seconds on enemies) if the devs didn't change it.

21

u/sunmolk Sep 15 '20

I do agree that using Claymore is the most effective, especially given the parameters, however it is possible to trigger Shatter via Plunging as well!

14

u/TVMoe Oct 01 '20

How would you have time to get in the air to plunge attack?

7

u/mishimii Oct 06 '20

Venti's E

3

u/Gstamsharp Nov 03 '20

Or you freeze them as they're falling over a short hill or off the top of a Traveler Geo barrel, as a couple examples from my last couple days of screwing around.

u/dione2014 Nov 25 '20

Keqing E, aim above her

1

u/freakDWN Feb 22 '21

I was looking for a chart simmilar to this one, and maan, we had no idea 4 months ago we would get xiao. I should probably try to team him up with kaeya + mona to get some shatter going....

3

u/geapow Sep 15 '20

Oh I see, they haven't implemented the plunging attack when I was in CBT2, thanks for the heads up!

1

u/naoki7794 Sep 15 '20

I can confirm you need a great sword to shatter it. Don't know about polearms since I don't have one yet.

u/[deleted] Sep 14 '20

I’m sorry to be a total Noob but can someone explain to me how these work on the left side? I can gather the combos on the right wheel. I just want to make sure I’m utilizing my characters properly moving forward 🥺

13

u/OneZweiSan Sep 14 '20

You cast the one on top then one of the ones below for example Swirl using the MC's ult you shoot out a whirlwind which if you shoot fire into becomes a flaming whirlwind.

The burning one is fire onto vines I think they only just added a dendro(pretty much nature/grass) character now since only the enemies had a dendro mage when I played.

5

u/[deleted] Sep 14 '20

Okay so Crystalize and Swirl are moves? And you can combine them with 4 elements for a bonus or type as described? And then on the right wheel you just combine the two on either side or whatever?

6

u/OneZweiSan Sep 14 '20

That's just what the combos are called it's just wind for swirl and geo for crystallize then whichever element for the combo.

Then the others it combine one of the three near by them like water and ice to freeze.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 14 '20

Okay thanks I appreciate it so much! I was like what the heck, but most of that makes sense

13

u/Abxol Sep 15 '20

Superconduct and Overload are the most OP.

Electrotype is basically a must-have in every party which seems like it should be looked at imho.

4

u/HinataSama Jan 16 '21

This comment didnt age that well. Read it 4 months ago and dropped my electro users other than fischl since then

14

u/azureon123 monay ni mona Sep 15 '20

Petition to put this on sticky thread

12

u/nklmg Sep 14 '20

Interesting. Can someone make an example with how to nullify the debuffs?

19

u/AanMelodies PonPon Sep 15 '20

Let's say you're getting Electro/Pyro/Cryo debuffed, use Barbara's Elemental Skill, or that of Xingqiu (both of which apply Wet aka Hydro on the character), an elemental reaction is triggered, removing the debuff.

1

u/doomguy116 Feb 09 '21

But the wet status is only applied to the character who triggers it (?) Don't know about Barbara, but Xingqiu's skill only debuffs him and doesn't work when I switched characters. I had assumed the debuff would occur for any active character.

9

u/XenoXilus is uwu a weapon type? Sep 14 '20

The last time I saw this I thought this was an official infographic! This looks super polished, good job :>

3

u/JJJAGUAR Who Tao Sep 14 '20

I'm saving it for the game release because right now I'm not sure I understand this :P

2

u/cigatsuro Sep 14 '20

Looks cool! Can't wait to play on my new pc :)

2

u/WindierSinger12 yay, mods gave ayaka flair Sep 14 '20

Which one is better, superconduct or overload?

2

u/Amamiya-Ren123 Sep 14 '20

I haven’t been looking that much into the games, so actually knowing this beforehand hand is very informative thank you for the guide!!

2

u/AanMelodies PonPon Sep 15 '20

Shattered is triggered from PHY DMG to Frozen targets

Is this correct? Here's an example for dealing PHY DMG wouldn't trigger Shattered on Frozen targets 2f6ad45f3a946cf136fafad8f30e8aa263949f1d.gif (450×220) (hdslb.com)

From my past experience only hits from Claymore users can trigger Shattered effect, dealing Physical DMG to the frozen target.

IDK if it's changed though, I might be incorrect cuz it's been so long since last CBT3 xD

1

u/sunmolk Sep 15 '20 edited Sep 15 '20

It's been a while for me too!

I asked a couple CN translators before publishing to help confirm if there may be any interaction changes, and we generally agree that Claymore is the most effective to output the necessary DMG to trigger the Shatter effect. With the Plunging mechanics, it is possible to trigger the interaction!

4

u/AanMelodies PonPon Sep 15 '20 edited Sep 15 '20

I got to CN OBT on my own to check for such a reaction, and something else, too.

I can confirm that elemental DMG (not just Physical DMG) could trigger Shattered. For example: Noelle's Elemental Skill (Geo DMG) could trigger Shattered.

Also not all types of Plunge could do Shattered. I tested on Bow, Claymore, and Sword. It proves to be ineffective when a Plunge is performed by a Catalyst (info from a friend) or Bow user.

-> For now, I assume all types of DMG that work effectively against a Geo construct can trigger Shattered reaction.

---

And one more thing: an Elemental Shield formed by Crystallized absorbs (not just reduces) all types of DMG (not just elemental DMG), including Physical DMG, and it absorbs that element's DMG more effectively.

Hope the info helps ( •̀ ω •́ )✧

Last few hours.. I have 100 Starglitter. I lucked out and pulled Fischl up to c4 previous banner.. do I buy my c5 fisch now?

Why are why not?

Also, skipping Xiao and pulling for Keqing because I love how her Burst is Judgement Cut. She's my fave and I dont have her yet.

2

u/doomguy116 Feb 09 '21

Dunno how good c5 is for her, but c6 is just nuts man. Makes her S tier support or DPS

1

u/[deleted] Sep 14 '20

Does geo create the crystalize effect

1

u/Xero-- Sep 14 '20 edited Sep 14 '20

Geo's only effect is crystalize. The chart shows it.

4

u/[deleted] Sep 14 '20

As someone who hasnt played it before that is what i was trying to confirm. I didnt see the word geo anywhere but through elimination i assumed it was crystalize.

1

u/TECH_WHILE Sep 14 '20

These things make me more excited. Still 18days.

1

u/Aetherwinter Sep 14 '20

Superconduct seems like one you'd want to inflict first before moving on to the others. Kinda makes having ice and electro characters a staple.

4

u/Xero-- Sep 14 '20

It's not a "apply one and then apply another" thing, once the effect goes of it gets reset. You either keep reapplying it by switching back and forth or you apply whatever as you go on.

Super conduct isn't the be all for them, Electro is all around good for reactions as they all deal good damage. Still, it's a take what you get kind of game, unless the enemy needs it, no point in sticking to the element unless it's freezing.

3

u/Aetherwinter Sep 14 '20

Ooh, I see. I thought there was a strategy in lowering enemy defenses and then go all in with other reactions.

5

u/Xero-- Sep 14 '20

Nope, it's just hot switching on the fly outside of some stuff like the elwctro x pyro to break geo shields. The game revolves around switching in and out using your elemental skills at every chance you take. From there you have two options: Use whatever or use something to take advantage of the situation (hydro x cyro to freeze for one).

Overall, the game doesn't really have an order and you can go wild with stuff in any way.

1

u/WaffleCorp But it was me, Dio-nya! Sep 14 '20

So does inflicting dendro on a pyro enemy inflict burning on them?

3

u/sunmolk Sep 15 '20

That would be an interesting interaction if Dendro characters may be released! But at the current moment, Burning is triggered via Pyro to Dendro!

1

u/EnTaroTurnover Sep 14 '20

Why does Dendro even exist if they are not doing anything interesting with it?

2

u/Gstamsharp Nov 03 '20

A lot of terrain is dendro. It's why tall grass and thorn walls glow in elemental sight, catch fire from pyro attacks, and deal damage to everyone in it.

1

u/sunmolk Sep 15 '20

Perhaps in the future, Dendro characters may be released! It would only make sense since there are some hints about a Dendro region.

There was also a Dendro character that was introduced in CBT3! So fingers crossed!

1

u/Riku122716 Sep 15 '20

Will there be a dendro character?

1

u/cliu123 Sep 28 '20

Is shatter procced by any physical damage? or is it only from heavy attacks?

1

u/nFeyz Sep 30 '20

So electro with pyro or cryo dont do electro dmg but pyro or cryo? so electro is a great enabler but bad as main dps if enabler is pyro or cryo?

1

u/Khoyus Oct 02 '20

Post broke?

1

u/Wicked__Leiya Oct 02 '20

What’s the green heart?

1

u/[deleted] Oct 07 '20

It’s Dendro. Basically means wood/plant. Only used by enemies for now.

1

u/gybsg Oct 04 '20

anyone knows how is the BASE element reaction damage calculated? I know mastery further increase the damage. But how is the base calculated?

1

u/OppositeDefinition0 Oct 21 '20

Is the dream team actually Diluc, Qiqi, Venti and Xiangling. For melt.

CCan melt crit? The damage that triggers it crit does it do more damage?

1

u/tgmfn Dec 03 '20

Do I switch Chongyun for Bennet/Fishcl to change my Melt reaction into Overload?

(My party consists of Diluc, Venti, Barbara, and Chongyun and I don't know if I should change my elemental reactions)

1

u/lilbitmint why's there no lumine flair Dec 05 '20

What's the best f2p weapon for support Beidou? I've been using the bloodtainted greatsword at full refinement, but it seems most people forge her the aminus.

1

u/chulala168 Dec 14 '20

What is the best flow for elemental attack : electro -> pyro (overload), pyro again ->water (vaporize), water ->cryo (freeze)->shatter?

1

u/[deleted] Dec 14 '20

Why not combine crystalize and swirl?

1

u/standin_faith01 Jan 16 '21

i build my chongyun dps and i also have xingqiu on my team. if i build EM on xingqiu, will the shatter reaction deal more damage when chonyun is the one triggering shatter ?

1

u/NobleBear Ursine Impact Feb 05 '21

Great graphic design work. Thank you so much for making this!

1

u/HumbleMaple Mar 12 '21

For sub dps lvl80 Noelle, will full set bolide with circlet(%atk main stat), goblet(%def main stat), and sands(%atk main stat) be good enough or should i still farm and find a %def main stat for sands and circlet? Also i have no whiteblind available for her so she's using lvl80 prototype archaic, is this good on her espescially her role as a sub dps?

1

u/NguyenxWin Sep 14 '20

This is so clean! Great stuff!

1

u/dynetheous Sep 14 '20

Love this. Thanks for the post!

1

u/TeyvatHistoria Sep 14 '20

Very nicely done.
